Kalisto captured the WWE Cruiserweight championship from Enzo Amore during a Lumberjack match that headlined tonight's edition of Raw.
For most of the day, the Cruiserweight championship was slated to be Neville challenging Enzo Amore. This afternoon, the decision was made to instead go with Kalisto, partially because they had written themselves into a corner with the stipulation that prevented Neville from having a title shot because he physically assaulted Enzo two weeks ago and partially because the show fell on the birthday of the late Eddie Guerrero, which allowed them to have a promo where Kalisto pushed that Eddie inspired him to make it to WWE, tying the win into Guerrero's legacy.
Tomorrow's 205 Live will feature Kalisto's first appearance as champion. He and Enzo were already slated to face off at the 10/22 WWE TLC PPV, but with Kalisto's victory, it appears he will go into the bout defending the championship instead of challenging.
