UNDERTAKER UPDATE

The Undertaker's Return to WWE Confirmed

Although not quite in the manner that his fans hope, it has been confirmed that the WWE superstar known as The Undertaker will be returning. He will be appearing at the Ace Comic Con in Uniondale, New York on the 8th of December.

Retirement Rumours thanks to Roman Reigns

It seemed that the 52-year old was calling time on his almost 30-year career with the WWE back in April. After suffering a devastating defeat to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, it looked like he was signalling that it was over with after the match ended. He left his long black coat, his hat, and his gloves inside of the ring as he got cheered out of the stadium after he lost. No official announcement was made however, by the Undertaker himself, aka Mark Calaway, or WWE.

Everyone is Hoping for a Comeback

However, reports have been rising in recent months of The Undertaker making a comeback, and this most recent reveal of his return to start work with the company belonging to Vince McMahon only fuel these. If Floyd Mayweather can come out of retirement to fight Conor McGregor, many fans are hopeful the Undertaker could make a return too.

The Undertaker Was an Instant Hit

Calaway began his WWE career in the Survivor Series in 1990, and he, along with his former manager, the late Paul Bearer, were immediately a hit. And, like the online Blackjack Canada has to offer, it seems that nothing is going to stop this kind of popularity.

Whether or not Calaway’s appearance at the Ace Comic Con in December will lead to The Undertaker taking a step back into the WWE ring for one last battle remains to be seen, but this appearance is making all his fans very happy, and very hopeful.

The Undertaker’s Legacy in Short

In a Digital Spy poll taken in 2013, The Undertaker was unequivocally voted the best WWE wrestler ever, and the IGN voted him the second-greatest as well. The latter didn’t just stop there, either, but went on to describe his as one of the most respected characters and admired wrestlers in the industry, and noted how he was treated with real reverence. They likened him to a beloved artefact of untold value! Complex’s Luis Paez-Pumar stated that The Undertaker’s character was by far the greatest gimmick in professional wrestling history, and Sport Illustrated’s Luke Winkie named him the fifth greatest wrestler ever. Wrestler Big Show named him the greatest pro wrestler ever, and Mark Henry and Vince McMahon, the latter the chairman for the WWE, have both named him as their favourite. Jim Ross, from the WWE Hall of Fame, and an executive for the company stated that The Undertaker was without a doubt the biggest and best man in wrestling history, and that there had never been another star in his league.

Further, the Gamer’s Edition of the Guinness Book of World Records mentioned The Undertaker as having the most successive victories at WrestleMania, and in November of 2015, Tom Fordy, a journalist for the Telegraph named him the greatest sportsman in the world.
