Former WWE Tag Team champions The New Day will be returning to television this week, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston are scheduled for this week's WWE Smackdown taping, their first appearance since being shifted to the brand following the Superstar Shakeup after Wrestlemania 33.
The team had been written out of Raw after being attacked by The Revival, a cover for a legitimate foot surgery that Kingston needed. Kingston has been cleared to return to the ring. During their time off, Woods and Big E traveling to India to help promote the company and Woods worked on his WWE Youtube channel, UpUpDownDown.
The timing of the return is set to help promote a WWE Network special "The New Day's Fantastic Ride" looking behind the scenes of the team hosting Wrestlemania 33. The special will be available this Tuesday on the Network's VOD platform. WWE released the following preview for the special:
