GEORGE STEELE HEALTH UPDATE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-07-13 17:23:00

After being hospitalized for 105 days, WWE Hall of Famer George "The Animal" Steele, 79, announced via his Twitter account that he was finally released to go home.

Steele had been dealing with kidney issues with several attempted procedures canceled due to fear that he wouldn't be able to go through the process due to his health.

Steele had an amazing career that saw him headline against WWWF/WWF champions Bruno Sammartino, Pedro Morales, Bob Backlund and Hulk Hogan as a heel before turning into a lovable babyface in the 1980s as part of the national WWF expansion.  Steele released an excellent autobiography in June 2013.

On behalf of everyone associated with PWInsider.com, I'd like to wish Steele and his family nothing but the best going forward and welcome him home.
