2008 - WWE.com's website added a section called Industry News, collecting reprints of not just WWE articles, but newspaper stories about WWE talent, and even news from independent wrestling websites, including PWInsider.com. WWE even mentioned articles on TNA and other promotions. The idea was to become a direct competitor to websites such as this one but was eventually changed to covering media articles about WWE in the mainstream before being discarded within a year.
2008 - TNA announced they would broadcast a live Impact on 3/27, taking advantage of fans being in Orlando for Wrestlemania.
2008 - The Omaha World Herald reported that Congressman Lee Terry wasn't backing down from his comments about World Wrestling Entertainment head Vince McMahon skipping the Congress subcommittee meeting on the usage of illegal substances in professional athletics.
Noting McMahon's reasoning being WWE's lead counsel Jerry McDevitt was busy working on a criminal case unrelated to WWE, Terry responded, "He probably has more than one attorney, so it sounded pretty hollow."
The article goes on to note that McMahon personally called Terry's office, but the Congressman was unavailable. He said he was willing to speak to McMahon in the future. In discussing steroids in professional wrestling, Terry commented, "There's no doubt that the entertainment factor is that they are physically huge freaks, that's part of the show, so there is kind of a belief that steroids are very ubiquitous in the wrestling entertainment industry."
WWE's Gary Davis told the Herald that said such comments "represent stereotypical assumptions made by people who don't follow professional wrestling."
2008 - Chris Jericho's second autobiography was officially titled "Undisputed".
2008 - WWE ran Cape Girardeau, MO at the Show Me Center. Brian Thompson filed the following live report:
Ring announcer Tony Chimel welcomed everyone to the show and then introduced WWE Raw General Manager William Regal. Regal proceeded to also welcome fans to the event and then run down the card.
Match #1: Super Crazy & D. H. Smith def. Charlie Haas & Trevor Murdoch.
Match #2: "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan def. Paul Birchill by DQ.
Match #3: Gene Snitsky def. Brian Kendrick.

Match #5: Mickie James & Maria def. Beth Phoenix & Jillian Hall.
Match #6: Chris Jericho def. Ken Kennedy.
Main Event: Randy Orton def. Jeff Hardy to retain the WWE Championship.
Notes: Crowd looked to be in the 6,500 - 6,800 range. There were only a couple of empty sections and only a few spot empty seats here and there. This may be the second biggest WWF/WWE crowd in Show Me Center history. The biggest was a sellout in March 1988. That show drew a standing room only crowd of 9,000 in the 8,000 seat arena. It was a TV taping that featured the infamous angle where Rick Rude picked Jake Roberts' wife out of the crowd for a "Rude Awakening," leading to the feud between those two. Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant main- evented that show on the opposite sides of a tag match. A winter/spring 1998 WWF card drew about 5,800 to the venue, which was touted at the time as the second biggest wrestling crowd for the Show Me Center.
The Duggan-Birchill match had an odd finish where Katie was caught choking Duggan blatantly in front of the referee. This happened just minutes into the heat for Birchill, so it almost looked like a messed up finish. Can't see why Duggan would be put over when they are trying to push Birchill and Katie.
Santino Marella and Carlito had a funny exchange on the mic. Santino talked about how "sad" everyone was to live in the state of "Misery" or, of course, "Missouri." Then, he said even the state's hockey team had the "Blues" . . . St. Louis Blues of course. Along with Carlito, he discussed Maria's upcoming Playboy issue. Some funny stuff here that I won't share due to the "adult themed" nature of it all.
Candice Michelle was originally advertised as working Beth Phoenix on the card for the WWE Women's Title. However, that match was changed to the mentioned Divas Tag. However, Candice did appear, distracting Beth which allowed Mickie to roll her up for the 1-2-3.
Chris Jericho looked to have landed wrong on a Lionsault, hitting the back of his head. It almost looked like he hit the ropes and then took a straight back bump to the mat, looking almost like a backwards headbutt if you can picture that in your mind. He stayed down for a second, then I guess gave the okay. Kennedy came to him and Jericho snatched his legs up, turning over into a Lion Tamer for the eventual tap out. Jericho's hand was raised, then he quickly exited without touching fans hands or any kind of post match gaga.
Really fun show. If you like more wrestling and less talk, even though there was a little mic work, the house shows may be the way to go as it relates to WWE. They will certainly be glad to have your ticket money!

There has only been one host. Matt says that he might be a glutton for punishment and he says that he has this job because he loves this stuff.
Matt says that he has a passion for WWE, just like the fans. NXT was supposed to be a show where the unseen can be shown to the world. Matt says that there is a crop of superstars who will carry this company to the future. NXT was supposed to be about change and it has not been the case for the last few weeks. The inmates have started to run the asylum and it will stop tonight.
Matt is interrupted by Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins. Curt says that tonight, they bring change. Tyler says that this could be one of the greatest nights of their lives. They tell Matt to hang on a minute. They come out with chairs, drinks, and popcorn.
Curt says that tonight is a historic night because he is going to hand his job over to someone younger and better looking.
Matt tells Curt to shut up and he has a few bullets left in the gun so if Curt wants to challenge him, he is ready for him. Matt says that this show needs some veteran leadership and someone the wrestlers can respect. John Laurinaitis and Teddy Long have been doing this for twenty years. Matt says that he does not have that experience. He is bringing in someone who has the respect of the WWE Universe, the wrestlers, and the fans.
Matt says that he has found someone who will make the matches and if you have a complaint you take it to that person. The new sheriff in town is William Regal.
William goes to the ring and he thanks Matt. William says that he looks forward to pushing everyone to their limits. He is looking forward to exciting matches against people you don’t expect. He wants to know why the two flibbity-gibbits wear sunglasses inside. He has something special lined up for them next week.
The last fifty-two weeks of NXT are over, but the new NXT has begun.
We go to commercial.

2016 - WWE broadcast Monday Night Raw. Richard Trionfo filed the following TV report:
We start off this week's show with a look back at what Triple H did to Roman Reigns last week on Raw.
We are in Nashville, Tennessee and your announcers are Michael Cole, John Layfield, and Byron Saxton.
The WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H makes his way to the ring and he makes his way to the ring and he shows off his title belt.
As he walks to the ring, we see photos of what was left of Roman Reigns' face after Monday night's attack.
Hunter says Authority, a select few have it while the rest of you bow down to it. Hunter says that all of you have an authority figure in your life that you have to listen to. A figure that tells you what to do, where to go, and how to dress. Every single one of you hate it. You all want to stand up to it and challenge that authority. You do not because you are afraid. That fear is not a bad thing. That fear is what keeps things in place. That fear provides you with the ability to know your place in life.
Roman Reigns should have known that fear and remembered his place. He tried to challenge and disrespect authority. Roman tried to disrespect and challenge him. Where did that challenge and disrespect get Roman Reigns? He is sitting home breathing through his mouth, hoping beyond hope that his dream of going to Wrestlemania still exists. Roman should know his place. You do not challenge authority. That is a message to anyone who can hear his voice.
Dean Ambrose's music plays and he makes his way to the ring and he appears to be doing a lot better than last week.
Dean says he wants to tell Hunter that he talked to Roman Reigns. He tells Hunter Roman says hi and he is coming for Hunter. Dean says that he figures Hunter would know what that means.
Hunter says fresh off his win from the Oscars for Best Supporting Actor in a Bromance . . . Dean Ambrose.
Dean reminds Hunter he was in a movie and it was pretty good. Dean says he is not going to go all Mad Max on him. He wanted to talk to Hunter last week but he got mauled by a grizzly bear in a parking lot and then he is fighting Brock Lesnar in a Street Fight at Wrestlemania. Then you hit Roman with a ring bell. Shane McMahon comes back and he is going to face Undertaker in Hell in a Cell so their schedules did not mesh.
Dean asks Hunter if he likes Shane or not.
Dean says that he wanted to know who Hunter wanted to win the Triple Threat Match at Fastlane. He decides to change the question and ask who he did not want to win that match.
Hunter says Dean is wasting his time, but the only two people who meant anything in that match were Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns so Dean was not even a factor in it.
Dean gets in Hunter's face and asks if he can see him now. Dean says it is hard for Hunter to remember the little people all the time. He says that he is the last person Hunter wanted to face at Wrestlemania.
Hunter laughs and he says that Dean really is crazy. Hunter says he always thought it was a skit he put on for you guys to make him look cool.
Dean wants to know why everyone keeps saying that. He might not make the smartest decisions. Hunter is real smart. He is the cerebral assassin. You are smart enough not to get in the ring with him because Hunter cannot beat him. Dean says he can see it in Hunter's face and his body. He says he can read Hunter like a book. He can smell it on him. Dean says Hunter does not think he can beat him.
Hunter says that unfamiliar smell is probably laundry detergent and clean clothes. Hunter says it is money and power, something that Dean does not have.
Dean says that Hunter is saying some pretty mean things but that is all talk. How about some action from the COO? How about me versus you?
Dean says he is not done yet. Dean says how about me versus you for that. Dean says that Roman won the right to fight for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania, but that does not mean that you are going to be the champion on April 3rd. Let's see if he is talking crazy and let's find out right now.
Hunter asks if that is how things work by saying something crazy and screaming RIGHT NOW and it just happens. It does not work that way. It intrigues him but he will think about whether it is best for business. Hunter says he will think about it and he will give Dean an answer by the end of the night.
Dean asks if he means the end of Raw or will it be by text later.
Hunter says Dean does have something to do tonight. He was going to give Dean the night off. Hunter ran into a few fun fellows called the League of Nations. Why don't you go one on one with Alberto Del Rio and he will have all of his fun friends out here. We will see if you can respect authority.
We take a look back at Shane McMahon's return to Raw last week.

We are back and The Vincent J McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award Trophy has returned to the ring and Stephanie McMahon makes her way to accept her award . . . a week later.

Stephanie says that you can chant for Shane, but he is not here tonight and he will not be here after the Undertaker is done with him at Wrestlemania.
Stephanie says that Legacy and family . . . legacy and family . . .
Stephanie closes her speech and she takes the trophy in her arms like a baby. Stephanie says that she works every single day of her life, sacrificing time with her family for you and this is the respect you show her? You chant We Want Shane. Stephanie knocks over the table.
Shane blackmailed her father and the WWE. You cheer that and what does that say about you? What does that say about her brother? What did Shane do with all of this information? He took a multi year vacation? Where was he? Can he come back because he is a man? Because he is a McMahon? It was because of your family legacy.
If you cared about your family legacy, you would have shown up a few times. You have not been to a Wrestlemania or a Monday Night Raw during that time. He did not care about his father or grandfather and he does not care about you.. Stephanie says it is sad that she loves her brother. She does not respect him because every time she puts her guard down, he stabs her in the back.
It eats him alive that she is married to Hunter. It eats him alive that she wields so much power. Your sons will have the chance to try to gain power in the WWE, but so will her daughters. You cannot come in and take over like you threatened. It makes her want to vomit over the thought of you in charge.
That will not happen because the Undertaker will dismember you at Wrestlemania and you will not have to be back. Shane McMahon is an reflection of you. You are all wastes of life. You think you are entitled to everything, but reality comes around and slaps you in the face.
You may not agree with the decisions they have made, but you cannot deny their work ethic or their legacy. You will be forced to show your respect to the Authority. You will have to bow down to the King and bow down to your QUEEN . . . ME!

We are back and Vince McMahon makes his way to the ring, even though we were told the Undertaker is next.
Vince complains about the ovation he got from the crowd. He wants to make sure that everyone knows who he is.
Imagine it is the night after Wrestlemania and he is introducing his son, Shane McMahon. He would have done that only if Hell froze over at Wrestlemania and the seas parted with a miracle happening at Wrestlemania because Shane McMahon would have won at Wrestlemania. That would mean that Shane would be running Raw and the entire company. His daughter and son in law would immediately quit the business. Shane would put him in mothballs and cobwebs and he would never see the light of day again. Shane would come to the ring to all of the accolades to lead you into a new era of Sports Entertainment.
Vince says none of that will happen because only fools believe in miracles. Shane may be foolish, but he still loves him. He loves him more than Shane loves him. He loves him enough to teach him a lesson he will never ever forget. He loves Shane enough to put him in the ring against the most unnatural force of nature in WWE history. He will put him in a match worthy of that force of nature. That force of nature is the Undertaker.
The lights go blue and the gongs sound as the smoke fills the arena and the Undertaker makes his way to the ring.
Vince says Undertaker is his force . . .
Taker grabs Vince by the throat and he tells Vince you know . . .you know. You know what's going to happen when he closes that door behind him at Wrestlemania. You know what he does. The blood of your son is going to be on your hands . . . not mine.
Undertaker turns around and leaves the ring.
Vince says the reality is . . . he will be standing here in the ring the night after Wrestlemania recognizing that his son failed to beat the Undertaker, failed him as a son. He will recognize that Shane not only lost his match but lost his inheritance. He is going to rewrite his will and give it all to Stephanie.
