I know you don't want to comment on Dave Meltzer, but can you comment on him reporting that WWE pays for the WWE ID talents to fly to indy shows and that Gabe Sapolsky writes the script for those matches?
Note: We are told that Meltzer did report this in his weekly Newsletter but it was later removed.
Dave Meltzer would be factually incorrect on both parts. I'll refrain from further comment, since I said I wasn't going to comment on him again, and I won't.
My friend keeps arguing to me that WWE got better because AEW was created. I say it was because Vince McMahon got bounced out. Thoughts?
I think there is great merit to both arguments. I think if you look at where WWE was in 2019 when AEW was created and see where they ascended was over time, you can argue that AEW woke the sleeping dragon and forced the company to get way better. Then, once Vince McMahon was ousted, that act alone invited fans who wouldn't give WWE the time of day because they didn't like McMahon a wndow to return and sample the company again. THAT move, coupled with the better creative and the names like CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, all really helped. But, to dismiss AEW would be a disservice, because certanly that company changed the business for the better, in my opinion.
Any update on Josh Alexander?
I am under the belief he is AEW-bound.
Why did it take Mike Bailey so long to debut for AEW?
My guess is they were waiting for the right creative window, plus they had to wait for a work visa, since he's Canadian.
