Former Impact Wrestling Champion Sami Callihan will be departing the promotion, PWInsider.com has learned from multiple sources.
Callihan's Impact deal expires on 9/30 and currently, the two sides, while still amicable, have not yet agreed to terms for a new deal. The expectation last night in Memphis at Impact TV was that Callihan has finished up, at least for now.
Callihan will be a free agent as of 10/1 and we have heard there is already interest in him from multiple companies not just as a talent but in other roles, which I would take to mean as a producer/agent.
Callihan debuted for Impact back in 2017 after runs in WWE NXT, CZW and MLW, among other promotions. Impact Wrestling fans voted Callihan bouts the best of the year twice - 2018 against Penta and 2019 against Tessa Blanchard. Outside of Impact, he promotes and books the extremely successful Revolver Wrestling promotion out of Iowa, also running Texas and Ohio, among other areas.
As noted yesterday, PCO will also be leaving Impact, a situation that is completely independent of Callihan's likely departure.
