AEW sources noted Tuesday evening that they had a sizable surge in Grand Slam ticket sales on Tuesday in part due to local media in NYC, including MJF on CBS New York and his appearance at a New York Mets game over the weekend. It was the largest day of ticket sales since Grand Slam actually went on sale, which obviously AEW needed. There has been a big blitz of media over the last few days.
MJF will appear this morning on WPIX channel 11's morning show.
Sports Business Journal reported that AEW will not be part of the new live sports tier launching on Max on 10/5. As we have noted in the Elite section for several weeks, there is a belief AEW will be ramping up additional PPVs in the months ahead, possibly even going monthly by 2024. Thanks to Steven Fernandes.
Julia Hart and Lee Johnson announced they will be getting married on 10/12. Our congratulations to them!
MJF tweeted he was going into tomorrow's bout with Samoa Joe "Injured" -
Tomorrow I go to war against a first ballot hall of famer.

One of the greatest big men in the history of our sport.
A man as intelligent as he is deadly.
Beating Samoa Joe at 100% is nearly impossible.
Tomorrow I’ll be wrestling injured.
But I won’t be in there alone.… pic.twitter.com/jqpH55aIuh
AEW posted the following footage from MJF at the aforementioned Mets game:
