Former AEW star Brian Pillman Jr. officially started with WWE NXT this week, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
Pillman took part in a tryout last month in Orlando. He finished out his independent appearances earlier this month with a loss to then-NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion Kerry Morton in Charlotte, NC at the Gathering IV. After that bout, Morton praised Pillman on the mic, pointing out that he was about to move onto "bigger ballfields."
PWInsider.com is told that currently there is "no rush" to debut Pillman Jr., 29, on television as the initial plan is to get Pillman into the PC system and allow him to get his feet under him.
