As PWInsider.com readers saw last week in our Q&A section, I was asked about Lady Frost's status with Impact Wrestling and noted that while she has requested a release, the two sides have not spoke in some time and that until she received a release, she could not work beyond independent dates elsewhere.
Earlier today, Frost tweeted the following:
If you were in a relationship where someone didn’t care about your physical or mental well-being, and didn’t adequately provide for you financially, would you fight to be free from it?
— Lady Frost (@RealLadyFrost) August 30, 2022
The tweet followed a Fightful.com report that Frost had been refused an Impact Wrestling release by the company. The report states that Frost had been effectively ignored by the company after taking time out for a medical procedure following The Multiverse of Matches PPV in Dallas, Texas this past April and that before that, was required to wrestle in April despite informing them she would likely required a medical procedure. Their report also notes a number of grievances against the company levied by Frost, including not having her travel to events covered, only being offered one meal on long taping days and having to pay her own luggage costs, among other alleged issues. Frost was on a per appearance deal, so if she does not perform, she is not paid and would not be receiving a guaranteed salary.
PWInsider.com can independently confirm that several days ago, Frost sent a letter to a number of top Impact Wrestling and Anthem executives with her grievances and requests to be released, effectively stating that she was now an "emotionally bankrupt property" of the company. PWInsider.com has been told that in the letter, Frost alleged she had been asked if she wanted to "sit out" the next two years of her career after asking for a complete release. Many of the claims we have heard passed on from the letter fall into line with the Fightful.com report.
As of this afternoon, Frost remains on the Impact Wrestling website roster. She last wrestled for the company on 4/1.
Obviously, Impact Wrestling has not commented with their side of the issues and whether they do remains to be seen.
