Mauro Ranallo will be calling the Impact Wrestling Rebellion PPV main event of AEW Champion Kenny Omega vs. Impact Wrestling Champion Rich Swann on Sunday 4/25, ESPN.com reported tonight.
PWInsider.com can independently confirm this to be correct as we were already chasing the same story this evening.
The match would be Ranallo's first pro wrestling work since departing WWE in August 2020. He's done work for Showtime boxing and Triller's Mike Tyson PPV since exiting WWE in what was announced as a mutual decision. Ranallo had been the lead announcer for WWE NXT when he exited.
Ranallo and Impact exec Scott D'Amore go back decades, having worked together in one of the final incarnations of Stampede Wrestling. One would think that would be the connection here.
