Sinclair names Joseph Koff vice president of Training and Development
BALTIMORE, Nov. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI) announced that Joseph Koff has been named Vice President of Training and Development, in addition to his role as Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair's wrestling promotion, Ring of Honor. The announcement was made by Steve Marks, Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair's television group.
In making the announcement, Mr. Marks said, "We are very pleased to promote Joe and make official the lead role he has been handling for us for years. Our first sales boot camps were created and taught by Joe. They eventually evolved into Sinclair University, which is our in-house sales training program, the curriculum of which Joe created and personally teaches. He has been an integral part in growing our top line revenues through the training of our account executives and local sales managers. We have seen solid results from the almost 200 sellers who have participated in Sinclair University and look forward to Joe expanding upon those success stories."

Mr. Koff has almost 40 years of broadcast and management experience. He has been with Sinclair since 2003 in multiple roles. Most recently and since 2011, Mr. Koff has served as Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair's wrestling franchise, Ring of Honor. Since 2010, Mr. Koff has headed Sinclair University, the Company's in-house sales training program that he created. Prior to that and from 2006, he was a Group Manager overseeing multiple Sinclair television markets. From 2003 through 2006, Mr. Koff headed Sinclair's in-house direct mail initiative, which at its peak, produced over 6 million pieces a month. From 1998 to 2003, Mr. Koff served in various management roles at Muzak and its largest franchise owner, Audio Communications, where he was President and CEO. During his television broadcasting career, Mr. Koff has served as General Manager, General Sales Manager, National Sales Manager, Local Sales Manager and account executive for various stations, including some which are now owned by Sinclair. Mr. Koff graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mass Communications from the University of Miami, Florida and has a Masters degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Leadership from the University of Baltimore.
