One of the rules I gave myself would be that I wouldn't take any photos where anyone was dressing. The last thing you want, when you are given the trust and freedom to walk around a locker room, is to make anyone feel you are doing anything exploitative. So, I never got the chance to shoot every room, but this locker room was my top want. It doesn't look like much, but add a row of now departed lockers, imagine the post-match chaos of a hardcore war - and you have the room where Randy the Ram suffered his near-fatal heart attack in "The Wrestler." This is the room where Mickey Rourke helped perform his way into an Academy Award nomination.
