AHMED JOHNSON REVEALS THE TRUE REASON WHY HE WALKED OUT OF THE WWF... AND WHY HE HAS NEVER TOLD VINCE MCMAHON

By WorldWrestlingInsanity.com on 2008-05-20 11:14:57

He was one of pro wrestling's fastest rising stars in the WWF.  Then one day…he was gone.  Now, the first African American Intercontinental Champion, Ahmed Johnson has come to ClubWWI.com for a 50 minute emotional shoot interview that rips the lid off of any false rumors about his life and career.

Over the years, Ahmed gained a reputation for his tough guy persona.  From his early days as a member of a well known street gang to his wrestling days where run-ins with others lead to problems and eventually respect from his peers, Johnson has always remained one of the industry's most mysterious people.  Today, he clears many things up on ClubWWI.com and sets the record straight on a massive number of topics including some painful and emotional stories…one of which he's NEVER spoken about publicly before.

On top of that, Ahmed speaks to James Guttman about much more in his uncut 50 minute Club shoot.  Just a few of these many topics include:  Learning That Ron "Faaroq" Simmons Injured Him On Purpose, Why Ron Did It, How He Got Payback In The Ring, The $4000 Rib Owen Hart Pulled On Him, The Rib Davey Boy Smith Played on Him During a TV Taping You've Probably Seen, Backstage Problems With Yokozuna,  How Yoko Refused To Help Him With The Bodyslam, Why He Felt Like "A $10 Whore" In WCW, The Nation of Domination Angle, Sweeping The Floors For Mid-South Wrestling, Getting Spit At By Ted DiBiase, His Wins Over The Rock, Playing Suge Knight in the MC Hammer Story, Getting Suge's Blessing, Being WWE'S First African-American Intercontinental Champion, The Significance of His Wrestling Outfit, Thinking He Was Joining a Muslim Group, The GWF, MMA, Early Days of Harlem Heat and Bradshaw, plus much more

One subject that Ahmed spoke at length about was the misconception about his WWF departure.  The man from Pearl River spends much of the interview clearing up unknown and misunderstood facts, but this is one that he specifically wanted to clear up.  Many have guessed that he left the company because he was a "prima donna," posturing for a better contract, or unhappy about an angle.  However, Johnson told JG that those stories are all false.  While it's true that he walked out during a Raw, it wasn't for any of those reasons.  It's actually something much more personal.  It's something that he didn't feel comfortable talking about at the time:

"When I left, the reason I did leave, and the reason I didn't tell Vince is because I'm not a crybaby, is that my sister was dying and she died like three days after I walked out the door and they didn't know I was dealing with that, you know?"

Ahmed goes on to speak about his sister's passing and his decision not to tell Vince McMahon about it.  He opens up about regret over the way he handled things at that time and speaks about that entire time period including his ill-fated return to WCW, how much he weighed at the time, and what he refused to do there..  It's a rare look behind the tough exterior of the former IC Champion and an emotional discussion that you wouldn't expect from Ahmed Johnson.  It's definitely something that any wrestling fan needs to hear and the only place to do that is on ClubWWI.com.
