Do you think that the company Big Vision would be better off just trying to sell the 10 episodes of the short-lived WSX series for a DVD collection and include the WSXtra matches as bonus features?
I wouldn't say they would be "better off", but if they can't work out a deal to remain on television, then it would make sense to sell the footage they have on DVD, provided their MTV agreement (remember, MTV financed the taping) allow for it.
Why was the Four Horsemen DVD reduced from 3 discs 2 discs? It's not like they are short on material to choose from...
My guess, and this is just a guess, is that WWE felt that a two-disc set, which will be lower in cost and price than a three-disc would be more profitable in the long run. A majority of their historical releases have been two-disc sets (Road Warriors, Pillman, AWA), while they reserve three-discs for sets they know will do huge business (Hogan, Piper).
I managed to get my hands on a copy of the ECW Super Summer Sizzler Spectacular from 1993. During a woman's match between Tigra and Peaches, a young girl comes down and her top is ripped off exposing her breasts. The announcers do not know who she is. I thought it was Francine at first but once they took a close up, I realized it was not her. Any idea who it was?
That would be Angel, who had a short run in the early days of ECW, most notably in a storyline with Hack Myers.
When Edge "cashed in" his Money In The Bank title shot at NYR '06, when did they let him know? Was he notified before the show (since he opened it up)? Or did they decide to surprise him and tell him just before the Elimination Chamber finished? And speaking of that, has there been any WWE, World, or ECW champion that didn't know they were winning the strap before the match?
Edge knew before the show that he would be "cashing in" his Money In The Bank match at the end of the night. Obviously, if they didn't, he certainly still wouldn't be in his gear at that point in the PPV. I'm sure there have been instances of wrestlers finding out about winning a title shortly before it happened, but for the most part, WWE has their top storylines planned out well in advance, so there are no "sudden decisions" regarding the top title.
I remember how bad the WWE product was before the Royal Rumble especially RAW and ECW. Fans were expressing their ill feelings towards WWE yet still continued to watch hoping that it gets better. From the Royal Rumble to now, the product has been great and fans cannot stop praising it. However, TNA's product has been dwindling as of late and many fans have just given up on the product. My question is this: Why were fans willing to wait for WWE's product to get better (and it did) yet are not willing to do the same for TNA? I personally think that TNA has an excuse for making mistakes because it is only four years old (going into five) and will probably get better down the line.
Not to answer a question with a question, but how do you know fans are giving up on TNA? Just because some fans post that on message boards? TNA's ratings have been steady, so while it isn't bringing in new viewers, the product isn't chasing them away either. As far as people giving WWE more of a chance than TNA, I think that is simply a case of fans giving the benefit of the doubt to the company with the proven track record. WWE has been around for years and shown that no matter how bad things get, it will rebound and comeback. TNA's track record, while admittedly not as long as WWE's, has been less consistent when it comes to "good streaks" and so many fans don't see the potential for them to improve. In the end, it all revolves around whether a person is taking an optimistic or a pessimistic point of view of the situation.
