He has had extended time off to deal with a back issue.
I remember Showtime airing WrestleMania 2. Why was that WrestleMania aired by Showtime? How well did it do?
No idea how well it did, but Showtime acquired the rights to air it on a taped delay basis like HBO would air certain boxing events after they took place. I believe it's the only time WWF had sold the rights. Once PPV took hold a year later, there was no need until the Peacock era.
Speaking of Showtime, I see it mentioned from time to time in places AEW almost landed there?
There were discussions with Showtime, but the word was that Showtime was, at the time, only looking to do quarterly live cards, not a weekly series. That's why it didn't go further. Management since then has switched around.
With Wrestlemania in Los Angeles and Triple H firmly in charge, do you think we can finally get the Andy Kaufman in the WWE Hall of Fame induction?
I am 100% in agreement with that idea and have written and talked about this for years. Kaufman truly loved the business.
I know there was talk that The Haiti Kid was going to start making some convention appearances and then it never happened. Any idea why?
Not at all. He was scheduled to appear at a convention run by Tommy Fierro and then it just dissipated.
