WWE will be moving the 7/2 Money in the Bank PPV from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to the MGM Grand Arena, sources within the company confirmed this afternoon.
The company sent out an internal memo today announcing "Money in the Bank will now be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena."
PWInsider.com has also confirmed that WWE will be offering ticket holders to the Allegiant Stadium event an exclusive pre-sale to purchase tickets first before the general public. That pre-sale will commence on 6/1. The Allegiant Stadium tickets will be refunded.
The last time WWE dealt with a change of this nature, moving a PPV from a planned stadium event to an arena, it was 1991's Wrestlemania VII, which went from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to the LA Sports Arena. WWE has always claimed that change was due to "security issues."
The MITB PPV is running head to head with the UFC 276 PPV at the T-Mobile Arena. It was to be the first-ever MITB event held in a stadium as part of a push to hold WWE PPVs in larger, grander venues.
