Earlier today at the WWE Wrestlemania Media Day, PWInsider.com spoke with Angel and Humberto, Los Lotharios about their team, kicking off Wrestlemania weekend with Smackdown, the Triple Threat match with Ricochet tonight and more.
Mike Johnson: All right, everybody it's WrestleMania weekend. We're only a couple hours away from SmackDown, and a most interesting SmackDown for Los Lotharios: Angel and Humberto. You are both challenging for the Intercontinental Championship, a very unique match: Triple Threat with Ricochet. You've wrestled many times in the past against each other.
Angel: Yes, sir.
Mike Johnson: How different is this situation, since we are now united as Los Lotharios?
Angel: I think the big difference is that we have gold on the line. Is that the only reason that we are going to put everything that we have in the ring? And we are professional enough, that we know how to split business from family. So whatever happens in the ring, is going to stay in the ring. But why not? We can both take the titles. We can have two titles, we can split the title. We don't know: anything can happen tonight.
Mike Johnson: You mentioned family, obviously. You're both well embedded in the world of Lucha Libre. We just saw Rey Mysterio is going to be the WWE 2K22 cover star. What does it mean to you to see Rey in that position? And let me ask you this: what Lucha legends would you like to see WWE one day incorporate into some of these games?
Humberto: Yeah, I think Rey deserves it. He deserves to be in the big spot that he's having in the game. It's awesome that you can do the story mode with him, and it's amazing. But yeah, definitely, we look back and the LWO was amazing. We'd see Psicosis, Damian 666, Konnan, and all those legends. We learned a lot of them, and I don't know, we just feel proud about them. And we're still in contact with them, and we are still learning stuff.
Angel: And why not having our faces on the future? Maybe On the 2K27?
Mike Johnson: There you go. There's a lot of Garzas. I mean, we could have a whole video game.
Angel: Why? Oh, sure. Yeah. I mean, third generation, having our grandpa there, you can put the whole family.
Mike Johnson: So obviously you guys are going to be a big part of SmackDown, this evening. How different is the mental prep for a SmackDown, when it's part of a big WrestleMania residency like we have in Dallas, versus we're in for the day, and then we're off to do the live events the next day?
Angel: I think should be the same thing. Because if you prepare on a different way, probably... So how we are working all the year is what take us for today. If we work something different, probably can take you out of the path. So just keep doing what you are doing, or what we are doing. And then it's going to get a payoff. By a certain point, we're going to get that payoff if we are focused on what we're doing, never try to rush it, never try to go faster, just keep walking step by step. And then by certain point, we're going to get that point that we deserve, or what we are working for.
Humberto: Yeah. I think it doesn't matter in which position we are. We are always giving the hundred percent anyways. Yeah. That's it, just put all the effort all day, and it doesn't matter if it's a WrestleMania, if it's a SmackDown, if it's a Raw, if it's a Backlash, whatever: it's always hundred percent, and go for it.
