The original plan for Raw Legends night was to open with Hulk Hogan in the ring cutting a promo. The decision was made to instead have him do the cold open backstage. Hogan and Ric Flair sat in on the production meeting prior to Raw.
The original plan for the show was for Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton to close Raw but the decision was made late in the day to close with Keith Lee vs. Drew McIntyre instead and do the Goldberg angle. Goldberg was very much hidden backstage until it was time for his entrance and was not listed in the script for the show.
The original plan for the final segment called for Drew McIntyre to cut a promo about the Legends to set up Goldberg's entrance, but with Raw running late, they cut the promo and simply had Goldberg come out much quicker. So, whatever the setup for Goldberg's promo on McIntyre was lost due to time cuts.
After Raw went off the air, Drew McIntyre nailed Goldberg with the Glasgow Kiss and faced off with him, which apparently was the original planned ending.
Carlito, Candice Michelle and Mick Foley did not appear as originally scheduled. We are told Foley made the decision not to work the date after overcoming COVID-19, although he was at the point he would not be infectious to others. The word backstage was Carito was originally written in for a cameo, but that was pulled from the script earlier in the day. No word on Michelle.
Prior to Raw, WWE taped Slapjack vs. Akira Tozawa and Ricochet vs. Drew Gulak for this week's edition of WWE Main Event. Gulak was trying out a new look with longer tights. We have spoilers on Page 2.
Sasha Banks and Natalya were backstage at Raw as they were filming content for the WWE Network.
