The Ohio Valley Wrestling TV taping set for this past Tuesday 8/25 was canceled due to interstate constuction in Jefferson, Indiana as well as concern about potential protests, so the decision was made to cancel out of concern for safety. The promotion, which traditionally would tape and broadcast the same week, is currently stockpiling episodes in advance in order to make their broadcast schedule easier. They will return this Tuesday 9/1, by Dustin Jackson vs. Jay Bradley. Those in the company are high on Jackson and Kayla Kassidy, who are young but have shown some real potential.
The promotion continues to tape TV every Tuesday in Jefferson, Indiana. They hope to return to the Davis Arena in Louisville and have been in contact with Kentucky State Officials but there is no time frame for that return due to COVID-19 concerns. In the meantime, the promotion is exploring finding a new building to house events as well as logistical OVW concerns for their trade school and wrestling academy.
There's been talk of looking at running events in locations where events are allowed to take place under COVID-19 protocol in several places, including Indiana, Tennessee, and evening Florida. There was talk of moving OVW's operations to Florida a few months back but once Indiana opened up, that talk died down.
The promotion is working on the format and plans for their National TV title tournament.
OVW talent Roman Rozell has been working with Diamond Dallas Page on a documentary on his journey into pro wrestling and life experience. Rozell has a hell of a story, including overcoming addiction, being struck by lightning and six combat concussions while serving in the United States Army.
