ANOTHER LONG DAY AT WWE PERFORMANCE CENTER AS WWE TAPES FOUR TV SHOWS, PLEXIGLASS MAY BE NEW PERMANENT ELEMENT OF WWE EVENTS GOING FORWARD

By Mike Johnson on 2020-05-26 00:12:00

WWE had another long day at the Performance Center yesterday.

Initially slated to tape two weeks of Raw, WWE changed their plans and taped the episode of Raw that aired last night as well as forthcoming episodes of Friday Night Smackdown, 205 Live and WWE Main Event.    The tapings ran somewhere in the area of 9-10 hours total.

The NXT talents who were standing around the ring at Raw stood around the ring for the other show tapings as well, making a long, long day for all involved.  We are told there were short breaks for everyone to sit in between matches with chairs being brought out for the trainees but they spent the majority of the day standing.

It was described as an exhausting process for those who were tasked with creating energy for WWE all day.    At the same time, there were some trainees who were also happy to be there since they had been removed from doing anything related to WWE over the last several weeks.  Yesterday had been the first time some of them had been inside the PC in some time.

Everyone who entered the Performance Center had their temperature checked prior to being allowed to travel to the building and had it checked again later on in the day.

WWE is again going through a long TV taping tomorrow, taping next week's Raw, Smackdown, 205 Live and Main Event.  On Wednesday, WWE will tape several hours of WWE NXT, bringing them all the way to the 6/7 Takeover: In Your House PPV.  The plan is to have trainees again around the ring to bring more of a  traditional live event experience to the broadcasts.

There was also talk today as well that the plexiglass used for the TV taping could be the norm going forward for WWE live events if and when they are able to begin touring again with TV and PPVs, utilizing it as a way to keep an "invisible" barrier, so to speak, between the audience and the performers as they are making their way to the ring and performing.
