In a first-time ever dream match, IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega will face Rey Fenix in Omega's debut for Northeast Wrestling on Friday 11/9 in Poughkeepsie, NY at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center. The storyline is that Omega defeated Fenix's brother Pentagon Jr. at "All In" so this is something of a grudge match with Fenix trying to avenge the loss.
As noted, Omega rarely makes appearances in the United States and this will be his first appearance in some time not connected to Ring of Honor or New Japan Pro Wrestling Stateside in a number of years. It's big coup for NEW.
Former WWE and ECW Champion Rob Van Dam will be competing for the event as well. Northeast Wrestling will have additional names coming in for the show announced shortly.
NEW Tickets will go on sale this Friday 9/21 at 10 AM EST at www.northeastwrestling.com. Meet and greet tickets for Omega are already on sale and have already close to 50% of the sales, including purchases from Florida, Michigan, Virginia and Ohio. Meet and greet packages for RVD and Fenix are also currently on sale.
