ROH Review Episode 62: All Hail the Queen

It's another week of ROH and there is only one champion set to be on the show, sigh. However, two matches are scheduled for tonight’s episode built up the week before! We truly celebrate the little things in this company. So, let’s see how this episode is compared to the rest.

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) vs The Infantry (Carlie Bravo and Shawn Dean):

Lazer Linda accompanied the Outrunners, and while I do not know if this is a permanent thing, I like it and I think it helps bring more to the team. This was a fun match! The crowd was into it from the start and you can tell both teams are going to be a staple in the ROH Tag Team Division. Commentary kept playing up the fact that this match was happening during the sunset in Daily’s Place and that at some point the wrestlers couldn’t see which was a nice touch. The Infantry gets the win as they look to continue their path to the ROH Tag Team Championships.

Winners: The Infantry (Carlie Bravo and Shawn Dean)

Nyla Rose vs Cameron Branae:

Our first squash of the night. Sigh.

Winner: Nyla Rose

Daddy Magic and Angelo Parker Promo:

Parker says that he was going to retire a couple of weeks ago until he was told that he was going to be a dad. Now that Ruby is going to be at home Parker and Mernard's new focus is on the ROH Tag Team Championships. They vow to make a trip to the promised land to get their shot at the titles.

ROH Tag Team Championship Proving Grounds Match: Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) vs The Qrown (Maximus and Leonis):

Since the sun was still setting in Florida, Bennett was one of the smarter wrestlers who came out in sunglasses during his entrance, smart. Other than that, our second squash match in a row. Big sigh.

Winners: “And Still” Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett)

JD Drake Promo:

Drake says that he is lost because he does not have his tag team partner by his side. After telling a story about how he got a two-dollar bill he says that in life you have two choices either quit or get back up and keep fighting. He says he wants to take his skills to the next level and he is ready to prove himself in the singles division in ROH.

Toa Liona vs Jimmy Wild:

We all know where this is going right?

Winner: Toa Liona

Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver, and Alex Reynolds) vs Zicky Dice, Sean Maluta, and Adam Priest:

Four in a row? New record?

Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver, and Alex Reynolds)

Iron Savages and Jacked Jameson Promo:

They say that they have been underappreciated for over a year. After winning the hearts of the crowd and getting wins they still can not be on pay-per-view or get championship matches. They are done trying to make the crowd laugh and are now focused on being successful. They are going to win, whether the crowd likes them or not.

Aaron Solo vs Jon Cruz:

I take it back this is a new record? At least Solo proved that he is TV Ready.

Winner: Aaron Solo

Robyn Renegade vs Queen Aminata:

To me, I feel like the Proving Grounds Match should have main-evented this episode, but since this is building to a program with the ROH Women’s Championship I guess it was fine. They showed Athena and Billie Starkz watching on a monitor scouting Aminata which added to the story with them. This was the second-longest match on this episode, which was sad but this was great. Aminata has found her rhythm within ROH and I think she will be a viable contender for both Athena and Starkz in the future.

Winner: Queen Aminata

Overall:

I don’t even feel like I can give an overall review of this episode. There were five squash matches and a bunch of promos, ROH needs to be fixed desperately. It keeps getting worse by the week.
