LIVE NOTES FROM 1/10 WWE IN BREMEN, GERMANY EVENT

By Bronco Groen on 2016-02-11 08:24:00

I was at the WWE LIVE event in Bremen. Some notes:

I think about 6000/7000 fans in attendance, second ring was taped off. Decent enthusiasm by the crowd. Ambrose, Owens, Big Show, Reigns where over. Also, good reactions for Charlotte, Flair, Paige, New Day and Ziggler.

Best match of the night was Ambrose vs. Owens, in the spot before intermission. Both got good reactions.

Reings and Del Rio worked pretty hard in the ‘street fight ’main event (Del Rio seems not really motivated or something, can’t put my finger on it… maybe also jet legged). Roman got a good pop, and talked after the match. Del Rio took his time to come out after the intro by Greg Hamilton, who handled ring announcing, and did a good job. Both guy missing something to really be main event stars, comparing it so seeing Jeff Hardy, HBK, Edge, Batista, Austin, Rock, CM Punk, Jericho, Undertaker, a young Lesnar, Cena etc. in the same settings in Germany.

Charlotte and Paige were off on spots a lot. I had some expectations, but they really seemed jet legged after the long trip. Flying overnight from Seattle to Amsterdam (arriving Wednesday morning local time) and them on to Bremen and performing on the same day (Wednesday evening).

The fans in Bremen started singing “Scheiß HSV” during the Ziggler and Rusev match. They were taken aback a bit at first. HSV is the Bundesliga soccer team in Hamburg and the biggest rival of local team Werder Bremen (both are in the North). Rusev asked them to sing it again for Lana, good work by Rusev and working with the crowd.

Big Show got a tremendous ovation, they love Big Show in Germany, coming out and working the opener with The Usos against The New Day, who tried to turn heel on the crowd by talking trash in German.

Jack Swagger was in the second match against Tyler Breeze. In April 2010 at TUI Arena in Hannover, Jack Swagger was main eventing against Edge and Chris Jericho with Bret Hart as special ref. Both worked hard, but did not get the crowd going at all.
