WWE responded to The New York Post's coverage of the Titus O'Neil suspension, stating that racism played no part in the company suspending O'Neil. The company issued a statement to the Post, noting, “The suspension of Titus O’Neil had nothing to do with race and everything to do with unprofessional conduct."
To back their claims, WWE offered The Post a copy of a text O'Neil sent to the company after being suspended that read, "I feel like sh** now so if you have to let me go, I understand. Stupid mistake."
