TOO MANY TURNS, COLE VS. OWENS, THE WAY WWE SET UP THE ROYAL RUMBLE THIS YEAR & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-02-12 10:00:00

Any legitimate beef between Michael Cole and Kevin Owens? I absolutely love how Owens usually screams “THIS ONE’S FOR YOU COLE.” before he performs a big move on an opponent.

No, they are just great at playing off of each other.

So since the Royal Rumble through tonight's Raw, Paige turns face, Big Show turns face, Brie Bella (and by association, Nikki Bella and and Alicia Fox) turn face, Sasha Banks (and probably Tamina) turn face, and Chris Jericho turns heel. This isn't even including The New Day in between. What's up with all the switches? Usually they try to shake things up AFTER Wrestlemania.

The quick turns are usually the result of the short-term, week to week planning that comes with trying to get the best quarter hours as opposed to building to a major event or moment. It's just the nature of the beast right now, unfortunately, and will remain that way until WWE decides they need to reformat their creative process or their weekly TV.

Was anyone left out of this year’s Royal Rumble that you would have included? With the title up for grabs I understand not having too many surprise entrants (AJ Styles being the perfect surprise for he given scenario), but I was thinking a couple more NXT names (Samoa Joe for one) would have been nice.

Unless someone like a Randy Orton or a Daniel Bryan was healthy and cleared to return, I thought WWE handled the Rumble perfectly. It was one of the best bell to bell Rumbles in years. One of the reasons they held off on surprises was because the match was being held for the WWE World Heavyweight championship and the feeling was that the match should be treated with a little prestige because it was for the most important title in WWE. I think it worked out perfectly, with Styles and HHH being the only "surprises."

Can you please tell me the logic of giving away, with no build whatsoever, AJ Styles vs Chris Jericho? That's a PPV-quality matchup just thrown out there on RAW.

They wanted a veteran for Styles to face in his first TV appearance that when defeated, would give Styles credibility before the WWE audience and leave some anticipation for rematches.

Who is the Brock lesnar mark guy? It drives me crazy this guy can afford $1,000 tickets to what seems to be at least 15 shows a year. Is he a fan, a WWE employee or just a complete nut?

Just a fan. None of those regulars you see floating around over the years have ever been anything beyond that. They are huge fans and either have the means or a hell of a credit line. Nothing more. I don't see why someone who wants to go WWE would be a "complete nut" anyway. No one ever says such a thing about season ticket holders for sports teams.

Ok, so TNA was well aware that Bill Behrens represented AJ Styles as an agent. Yet, they tried to negotiate with the talent directly and not consult Behrens at all. How stupid does this make TNA look as a business? To me, it makes them look completely incompetent.

Let me flip it back at you - what does it say for Styles and the others to negotiate without Behrens then? There was nothing wrong with what TNA did. If WWE wanted to sign him without Behrens being involved, they could. You don't need a lawyer or agent to sign a contract with a company looking to offer you one.
