WOULD WWE TAKE KURT ANGLE BACK, PICKING TOP MANIA MATCHES, THE BUCKET LIST & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-01-02 10:00:00
With the rash of talent injuries, the unstable ratings, and Vince's propensity to reach into the past rather than build for the future, do you think it has become more likely that Kurt Angle will show up back in WWE when his TNA contract expires later this month, (pending a medical exam of course)? I know when Angle and WWE spoke a year ago it was reported that they wanted him full time or not at all. But under the current circumstances, they seem more likely to take what they can get in that department.

I think it all depends on whether they feel about Angle is healthy enough. If they aren't putting Daniel Bryan back in the ring when they KNOW he can drive revenue, they aren't going to put Kurt Angle in a ring at this stage of his career unless they feel it's safe.

At this time, what do you expect the top 3 or 4 matches at Mania to be?

Given that WWE changes direction at the whim of a moment's notice from Vince McMahon, it's impossible to say with 100% certainty. However, IF The Rock is wrestling, my picks are:

-Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar
-The Rock vs. HHH
-John Cena vs. The Undertaker.

Is the Les Thatcher on the WWE Network's SMW the same one on PWInsider Elite?

Yes, one and the same. Just older and more ornery!

Obviously you go to a lot of shows and have interviewed and met a lot of talents - what's left on the bucket list? You were on podcasts with Jim Cornette, Jim Ross and Ric Flair in the past year plus you do the Taz Show. What's left for you? I'm hoping for the Steve Austin show.

Well, the goal is to do this for the rest of my life, so that's the BIG bucket list goal! I'd still love to go to Japan (seeing Liger in the Tokyo Dome would be the coolest thing ever for my inner 16 year old), Mexico, Puerto Rico, Germany and the UK for big shows and I've got about 10 book ideas I'd like to get to one day but the site is a monster and that will always be the priority. As far as the Austin podcast, if he or anyone else wants me on, they'll let me know. It's not something I would ever ask for or pursue. I am very blessed to do to The Taz Show every week and when others invite me, it's always something I am humbled by.

Whatever happened to Mantaur?

Mantaur is still appearing from time to time and often does acting roles as well.
