NAILZ, WWE PPV LOCATIONS, TURNING THE WYATTS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-12-31 10:00:00
Regarding WWE PPV locations since 2012, aside from WrestleMania the WWE would reserve five of its PPVs in Brooklyn/East Rutherford, Los Angeles, Chicago, St. louis and Boston while the remaining PPVs would be held in other top-drawing markets such as Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston, Detroit, Minneapolis and Atlanta while neglecting Seattle, Kansas City, Denver and Toronto. Do you think the reason for this trend was due to the WWE wanting to hold its PPVs in the top-drawing markets?

That certainly would seem to be the case, since that is smart business - bring your product to cities where you know that people will come out and pay for it.

I remember reading or hearing the tape of the New Jack/Mass Transit Incident had "disappeared", but I just read that the Kulas family appeared on Inside Edition years ago and footage of the match was shown. What's the real story?

The footage was sold by RF Video, which later pulled it from sale when they realized what a huge controversy the incident had become. That tape being sold was one of he dumbest decisions in the history of professional wrestling.

Why hasn't WWE turned The Wyatt Family already? It's obvious that's what the audience wants from where I am sitting.

They haven't turned them because WWE hasn't wanted to. I'd like to see them go that route because it would give them a lot of really fresh match combinations, but thus far, no dice.

I see all these wrestling conventions happening but the one name that never pops up is Nailz. I know the story is that he was banned from wrestling after attacking Vince McMahon backstage at a show but why does that go as far as to prevent him from making convention appearances?

First, he was never banned from wrestling. He was fired/quit WWF in 1992 after he allegedly physically assaulted Vince McMahon but he wrestled for several years after that as I saw him personally wrestling on the independents as late as 1994. He's retired and moved on from the business. I know some promoters have tried to book him in the past for appearances but he's never shown interest out of leaving Minnesota to do them.

Best ECW match of all time?

That's a rough one. I'll go with the match that really put ECW on the map: Terry Funk vs. Shane Douglas vs. Sabu at the Night the Line was Crossed.
