— Lucha Underground (@LuchaElRey) December 13, 2015As noted over the weekend, Rey Mysterio has signed with Lucha Underground. Mysterio will be heavily involved in all the storylines going forward. There was a LOT of promotional material and vignettes filmed with him this past weekend.
PWInsider.com has also learned that Joey Ryan has signed with the promotion.
El Rey Network creator and film director Robert Rodriguez as well as Survivor creator Mark Burnett (who's company is producing the series) were in attendance at the LU taping over the weekend, which featured a big spoiler for season two you can find on Page 2.
Today it was announced that Lucha Underground signed an apparel deal to provide official Lucha Underground merchandise through ProWrestlingTees.com. Lucha Underground is currently offering three t-shirts available at http://www.prowrestlingtees.com/luchaunderground in a variety of styles. There will be a lot of additional items announced shortly. ProWrestlingTees.com also announced that they have launched apparel stores for both Paul Orndorff and Billy Gunn. Season 2 of Lucha Underground premieres Wednesday 1/27/16 at 8pm ET on the El Rey Network. There will be a marathon of season one before the new season kicks off and there are also discussions underway to get the first season up on a streaming service.
