So I have been binge watching the World Championship Wrestling content that was recently added to the network and of course in the process reliving my childhood and pre-teen years......and thinking of course how much has changed. I know those episodes are representative of times never to be seen again, but something hit me in what I think is one of the most important differences between then and now that WWE has been missing for years now.....on those episodes, virtually every match was treated as if it mattered......of course many of them were simply squash matches in which the outcome was never in doubt, but by golly the announcers still treated them as any other match. Compare that with today's programming and while even the best announcing won't totally cover a bad match, if the announcers themselves  sell their lame jokes or plugs for whatever else besides what's happening in the ring, how do they expect the audience to care, and by extension care about whatever the matches are supposed to be building towards?

The Network definitely points out how much WWE has changed, and not for the better. I think the company needs to get back to realizing the ring in the center of the building is the main set and it is serious stuff while getting away from the comedy aspect that isn’t working. I also agree that the company needs to get the announcers back to treating the action as being important.

In the discussion of the decline in Raw’s ratings, June seems to be the dividing line.  Did something change between May and July that might explain why so many viewers decided to move on?

The real line was Labor Day, which saw the return of NFL football. And then, the fall TV season with shows like Big Bang Theory and The Voice came back. I think what happened more than anything was that other choices came back and people started taking advantage of them.

I read about Raw's dwindling numbers. I read where Mick Foley may not watch Raw anymore. I read where many many folks think VKM is totally out of touch with his audience. Then I watched Raw last night, OMG...now I understand! Can it get any worse?? I find myself tuning out a lot, especially during a match, just to come back to see how it ends. But soon I fear I will tire of this. And from what I have seen, I don't think VKM will make any changes soon.  I have even developed my "break buddies", those wrestlers that when they come on, I go for snacks, or to the bathroom. Is there really any hope at this point?

There is always hope. But I understand how you feel, it does make a person wonder what it will take to get that change to happen.

Considering that the Cody Rhodes character is all but history, do you see Stardust possibly revamping his gimmick by possibly bleaching his hair blond as well as making his face paint much more weirder?

I honestly don’t think he could make the character much weirded than it already is.

Would you feel there would be an interest in having two Rumble matches at the PPV; one for the men and a smaller one for the women, with the winner of the women's Rumble guaranteed a Diva's title match at WM32?

Hmm, that wouldn’t be a bad idea. Obviously there would be less people in it, but I don’t think that is a bad idea at all!
