DOES ROMAN REIGNS DESERVE TO BE THE TOP BABYFACE?, THE RADICALZ, THE GOOKER AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-11-26 10:00:00

Who was The Gobbledy Gooker?

Hector Guerrero.

So let me get this straight first Mick Foley tells fans (at Full Sail) that voicing their opinions over Eva Marie is wrong and that they are going into business for themselves yet now he wants to stop watching WWE for not listening to the fans? First the slut shaming thing and then taking it back now this... at what point are we going to start writing this guy off as having too much too on his hands/an obsession with social media or having taken too many chairshots to the head?

You bring up a good point.  Mick may want to think about how he is presenting his opinions.  Personally, I think he was too heavy-handed with his comments about the fans at NXT but he was also very critical of fans during the era of the original ECW.  As far as WWE not listening to what some of their fans want, there's some truth to that but again, I think Mick threatening to stop watching is silly because at the end of the day, he loves wrestling and his relationship with WWE is the best path to continue to make money.

Hey this is a follow up question regarding The Radicalz leaving WCW. I was always informed that it was basically them not wanting Kevin Sullivan being booker due to past issues and they requested their release and got it with the clause being they couldn't talk negatively about WCW for a certain period. This is the first I heard of someone threatening to cut their throats and it got back to HR. can you elaborate on that or we're you just joking?

I wasn't joking.  It was something that happened and it was mentioned in Eddie Guerrero's autobiography.

Why do you think Vince and WWE are exerting so much energy trying to force people into seeing Roman Reigns in a certain light when a signify the majority of the fan base already see certain other stars in that light. Guys like Cesaro, Ambrose, Neville, Owens, Ziggler, and even Wyatt continue to get massive reactions of the fans yet they often get used as fodder for guys like reigns or cena. They're not cheered because they internet darlings, they're cheered because at this point in time they are just plain better and more entertaining and resonate with more people. I get that Reigns is the big, muscular, good looking guy that Vince is prone to, but the audience doesn't see him as "the guy" so why manufacture it. Is Vince just stubborn, stuck in the past, or does he have a god complex where he thinks he make the masses believe because he all powerful?

They are doing it because at the end of the day, they go with what Vince McMahon has personal and professional faith in and right now, that's Roman Reigns.  On paper, all the reasons to go with Reigns make sense to me and I think that the idea that the audience has completely rejected him is pure silliness.  There is an aspect of the audience that rejects him but I think that has more to do with their anger that Daniel Bryan wasn't the chosen one when he returned and Reigns is an easy outlet for that anger.  Reigns has worked extremely hard to overcome any valid criticisms in my mind and I think he's earned his spot.  If someone else, including any of the names you referenced, were in his place, there would be just as much spirited debate about whether they belonged in the slot as well.

Hi guys love the site, wanted your opinion on something after the beast in the east wwe have said they are looking into doing more, how good would it be to bring back the best gimmick sort of match war games. In my opinion war games were awesome and having as a special could have faces vs heels or raw vs smack down (or nxt) woman war game current superstars vs legends( who can still perform in ring with no injury worries obviously) just wanted your guys opinion on this.

I absolutely love this idea, but WWE has never embraced the concept. I'd love to see another Wargames.
