Since that time, Maddox had worked a number of house shows and dark matches and made the occasional TV cameo while trying to find a new niche on the main roster as he tried out different personas and gimmicks. He worked last night's Smackdown taping in Indianapolis in a dark match, losing to R-Truth.
On screen, Maddox was most recently appeared on "The Tonight Show" as the hapless victim of The Undertaker, taking a tombstone while dressed in a turkey suit.
WWE's statement noted, "WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Brad Maddox as of Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015. WWE wishes Maddox the best in all of his future endeavors."
