ROLLINS VS. KANE, FINN BALOR VS. SHEAMUS & MORE: 11/4 WWE IN DUBLIN, IRELAND LIVE REPORT

By Matthew Macklin on 2015-11-04 22:04:20

The 3 Arena looked to be around 90% full with lots of children and families.

The show opened with Ric Flair welcoming us and introducing the main event.  That was all from him for the night.

Cesaro defeated The Miz.  Cesaro was hugely over.  Anyone that thinks he isn't is crazy.  Even little kids had made Cesaro Section signs in crayon.  This was a really good opener.  It was a longer version of the match they had on Raw.  There were some nice counters and teases for the swing with Miz locking on a figure 4.  Cesaro swung Miz at least 30 times and the place went nuts for it.  He won via submission with the Sharpshooter.  Good start to the show.

After this Curtis Axel came out and sucked up to the crowd.  He then swerved and sided with The Miz.  This brought out Big Show who is apparently a babyface again now.

Big Show defeated Curtis Axel & The Miz.  Show was really over. It was fine for what it was.  Show won with a double chokeslam.  It was give a bit of time.

R-Truth defeated Bo Dallas.  This was just a basic house show match.  I was hoping to hear from Bo, but that didn't happen.  Bo tried to grab the ropes on a sunset flip, but Truth rolled through and got the pin.  It was entertaining and short.

WWE Tag Team Championship: The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston w/Xavier Woods) defeated The Dudley Boyz.  Both teams got a big response coming out.  Big E's charisma is off the charts and The New Day are so ridiculously entertaining. Every single thing they do is fun.  This was the usual match between these teams.  Kofi rolled up Bubba after a distraction from Woods.  After the match Woods ate a 3D.  No table's which the crowd weren't happy about.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Tyler Breeze w/Summer Rae.  This was awesome.  These two are gonna have awesome matches on TV.  They have great chemistry and Summer is fantastic at ringside.  Some of the crowd didn't know who Breeze was.  Ziggler wasn't as over as he usually is.  He straightened his hair and looked like Greg The Hammer Valentine.  They both hit superkicks.  Breeze kicked out of a Zig Zag.  Ziggler kicked out of the Beauty Shot.  Both near falls were awesome.  Summer was ejected and this distracted Breeze so Ziggler could hit another Superkick and a Zig Zag to get the win.

Becky Lynch & Charlotte defeated Brie Bella & Alicia Fox.  Paige was the referee.  There was a major screw up on WWE's behalf.  Becky made her entrance with Charlotte, to Charlotte's music.  The crowd were dying to explode for her entrance.  The crowd were hugely into her during the match.  Becky got the hot tag and looked great.  She made Brie submit to the Disarmer.  After the match the played Becky's music for a minute or so and went back to playing Charlotte's.  I'm sure this was an awesome night for Becky, but it really felt like they were shoving Charlotte down your throat when this should has been Becky's moment.

Finn Balor defeated Sheamus.  This was the highlight of the night.  This was the legitimate first match that these two have ever had.  Both guys obviously got massive reactions.  Balor was insanely over with the crowd.  The match was great with Sheamus playing the villain.  There were some awesome spots at the end of this.  Balor hit his dive over the top.  Balor counted a Brogue Kick into a Slingblade, a corner dropkick and missed a stomp. Sheamus hit the Brogue, but Balor kicked out for an amazing near fall that everyone fell for.  Balor scored the upset when he caught Sheamus with a sunset flip.  After the match Sheamus raised Balor's hand.  It was a really special moment to witness live.

WWE Championship - No Holds Barred: Seth Rollins defeated Kane.   No one cared about Kane really.  This was okay.  The weapons made it slightly more interesting.  The big news here is the possible injury to Rollins.  He attempted a sunset flip powerbomb, but when his legs hit the mat he fell and favoured his knee.  After a few seconds he grabbed Kane and powerbombed him through the table.  They then went to the finish with Rollins pedigreeing Kane onto a chair.  After the match Rollins had to be helped to the back and seemed unable to put any weight on his knee.

It was flat ending to an otherwise fun show.  It was a big night for Irish wrestling.  It's incredible to see three people from a country as small as Ireland performing at a high level in WWE.  It speaks of the talent in this country.
