SCRUBBING HULK HOGAN, IS THIS IT FOR BIG SHOW, SUPERSTARS VS. WRESTLERS AND MORE

If this really is the end for Sting, has he earned a place in the top 10 of all time?

I really don’t like doing top 10 lists where wrestling is concerned because it’s really a subjective thing to slot people. With that said, Sting is an all time great.

Do you think Vince, Triple H etc. would've been okay with Stone Cold, Edge and Christian differentiating between "Superstar" and "Pro Wrestler" on the podcast? It seems to go against what they want to be.

Most talents, especially older guys that came up before the recent branding took root, consider themselves wrestlers. They got into the business to be wrestlers. With that said, that know that branding is important to Vince McMahon so if he wants to call them Superstars or Sports Entertainers, they go along with it on his shows.

Is WWE's "scrubbing" of Hulk Hogan really that big of a deal?  Granted, I know he's a big hot potato from his comments but there's been times where WWE has downplayed Hogan in the past.  With rare exceptions, WWE pretended Hulk didn't exist during his WCW and TNA runs. Maybe I'm just a little desensitized from the past but I don't see WWE's "scrubbing" of Hogan to be that massive.

I think you make a great point. I don’t see it as a big issue either. The fact is, he was hired to be a goodwill ambassador for the company and his comments toward black and gay people made it impossible to keep him in that role.

I know Ryback gets a lot of Goldberg comparisons due to his initial "squash everyone" run but I see more of an Ultimate Warrior vibe and I'm wondering if you see the same thing?  They both have colorful ring gear, they're both REALLY REALLY muscular (bigger than Goldberg), they both have this lovable vibe to them (while Goldberg was always just a little more like an intense asskicker), plus Ryback having THAT Intercontinental Belt seals it for me.  But do get where I'm going with this?

I see the point you are making. Ryback shows a lot more personality than Goldberg ever did. But, when Ryback was first getting the chants he really hadn’t started showing that side yet. I think Ryback definitely has more of a rounded personality that Goldberg did.

I know the "please retire" chants for Big Show are extremely disrespectful but what do you think of WWE "going with it" at MSG when Brock takes him on.  Big Show has been yelling back to the fans "find someone to retire me" so why not have Brock beat Show and "retire" him then take him off TV for awhile?  It gives Paul Heyman something else to brag about for Brock, it gives the fans, and the subscribers, at MSG a moment and it gives Big Show a much needed reset.

I have no problem with that as Show could use a break from the eyes of the fans. I have said a few times that the perfect role for him now is as an attraction and/or someone who comes out to save the day. I would book him kind of like 911 was booked in ECW at this point. That could work very well if handled properly.
