WHO HAS JOHN CENA ELEVATED, WHAT WWE LOOKS FOR BEFORE BRINGING NXT GUYS TO THE MAIN ROSTER, THE COSMIC WASTELAND AND MORE

What are your opinions about the Vaudevillans and how would you book them on the main roster?

They have really stepped up lately. I am impressed with the progress they made. My fear is that on the main roster Vince McMahon would choose to make them comedy guys, which would kill them. To me, after their entrance, I think you have to book them as strong and aggressive in the ring.

My question is what does WWE look at when determining how quickly to promote a newly signed talent to the main roster? Three guys come to mind: Kevin Owens, Hideo Itami and Fin Balor.

There is no set criteria that a talent has to meet. It’s more a situation of first feeling a talent is ready, and then having a good position to put them on the main roster. Owens was deemed ready and they had the Cena program in mind, so up he went. Another fact now, with NXT more and more becoming its own brand, is that the company will also have to consider that they need headliners for their shows, like Balor. In Itami’s case, he has been injured and before that took a little longer to acclimate to the NXT style.

Am I probably hoping for too much by genuinely thinking WWE could & should build The Cosmic Wasteland into something? They could be a really strong team with Cody's experience & the Ascension's quality from NXT.. is this likely to happen are or they already doomed to the pre-show?

What have you seen in the last year that gives you legitimate hope that WWE will push those three guys? I don’t see anything so yes, in my opinion I think you are hoping for too much.

Well I finally bit the bullet and got the network. And I watched a little of NXT. And although I was a little disappointed that the network has commercials (or as WWE will probably call them…"promos"), some of the shows and programs seemed pretty interesting, and brought back a lot of memories. But having never really watched NXT before, I have to ask : What is the deal with Bayley? This is not an attractive woman, certainly not like all the other divas I have seen, and her mic skills seem somewhat lacking. Yet the crowd seems to enjoy her, but no more than they do others as well. So why do you think was this woman made the champion?

You answered your own question, you are new to the Network and have not followed the build that got her to the place she is now. It’s like you came in at the end of a movie and wonder why the ending doesn’t make sense. And not for nothing, being attractive is subjective and if you think only drop dead gorgeous women should get a chance to wrestle, your thinking is messed up. We have had model types that can’t wrestle very well for long enough.

Your recent blog got me thinking... Just as of recent memory Cena has feud ending wins over guys like Wyatt, Rusev and potentially Kevin Owens, even thinking of Barrett as well as the late Umaga and I got thinking about Cenas career.... When John first started he had guys like Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle and Undertaker go out their way to make John look like a star.. Now that Cena has been on top for the better part of a decade.. Who HAS John Cena helped make into a main event superstar for WWE???

Since he has become a top guy? Yep, you make a great point. He has lost to The Rock and Brock Lesnar, but they were made. He lost the first one to Kevin Owens, but won the feud. Yep, therein lies the problem. WWE has booked him to take, but not give. WWE would say he raised up Kevin Owens, Rusev, Bray Wyatt etc. but I would disagree with them.
