UNDERTAKER AND BROCK BEHIND THE SCENES, ORTON'S FIRST TITLE REIGN, STEVE AUSTIN'S ILL-FATED HEEL TURN AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-08-29 10:00:00
With Summerslam just passing there was a lot of video of the various Undertaker/Brock confrontations and something got me thinking. During the initial meeting of Brock and Taker at UFC a seemingly out of character Taker alluded to a real life beef with Brock. After a couple years of confrontations and matches, is there any ?real life? heat between the two? It?s quite obvious that they both work very stiff with each other, but what is the behind the scenes relationship between the two?

There's no behind the scenes issue. I think Undertaker was more or less calling out Brock to come back and wrestle him and it got blown out of proportion. They get along fine behind the scenes.

Why was Austin's heel turn at WM 17 unsuccessful?

Quite frankly, the audience didn't want to see Steve Austin as a villain sucking up to Vince McMahon. They wanted to see Austin as the Rattlesnake kicking ass. The decision to turn him left a lot of money on the table. Austin should have been the guy battling the Invasion, not the one leading it.

Was Orton winning the World Heavyweight Title at Summerslam 2004 the right call? or was it too soon?

It was the right call. The mistake was having HHH and Evolution attack him and get the belt off of him so quickly, killing Orton's momentum for years.

Do you think it was a good idea for WWE to place the women into teams instead of simply showing these women as individuals displaying what their capable of doing inside the ring and outside as well?

Initially, yes, but now they are left with a situation where they have failed to explain to the audience who these women are and why they should care about them. They, at the very least, need to run the NXT vignettes about them.

Which two current wrestlers would you like to see face each other in an Iron Man match?

John Cena and Seth Rollins.

Can you recall a matchup that was being discussed for a PPV event, but ultimately never took place?

The initial Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair match should have been a PPV. How that never happened is beyond me.
