SUMMERSLAM LIVE NOTES & NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2015-08-24 00:16:03

There was nothing additional live at the Barclays Center after the Summerslam PPV went off the air.

I noted earlier that Kazuchika Okada was backstage visiting. I was told after the show that several other New Japan talents were there, including Shinsuke Nakamura and KUSHIDA. They were in town working the ROH events. They spent a lot of time visiting with Finn Balor yesterday. Jushin Liger was also at the PPV and is scheduled to leave tomorrow for Japan I am told, so he won't be at Raw. Not sure on the others.

Actress Melissa Joan Hart was backstage visiting.

There were a TON of counterfeit tickets sold for Summerslam. I saw at least 7-9 instances of people with fake tickets being turned away and escorted out of the building this evening. Even for Wrestlemania, I've never seen or heard of that amount of counterfeit tickets floating around for a WWE show. It really sucked to see and hear about so many people getting ripped off.

ESPN Sportscenter had Randy Orton, John Cena and Big Show on live before the PPV. They set up inside the lobby of the Barclays Center right next to the box office.

Interesting to note that live, there were a lot of promotional kiosks set up at the show. There was a Total Divas backdrop for fans to take photos with life-size cardboard standups of the cast. There was also a pretty nice Mattel action figure display with fans receiving free Sting posters if they visited.

A number of the WWE NXT roster were in attendance at the PPV, situated in skyboxes.

The Tough Enough cast watched several matches after their on screen appearance before heading to the back.

In a cute idea, the menus for the concession stands featured items themed to WWE, including "Attitude Adjustment Tenders" and "Bashing Bulgarian Burgers."

WPIX channel 11 in NYC was at the show.
