TOUGH ENOUGH SAVES, WWE LIVE EVENT PLANNING, NOT HAVING COMMERCIALS DURING MATCHES AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-08-07 10:00:00
I just finished watching LU. They went the full season, with the exception of the 60 minute iron man match, of not having a commercial interrupting a match. It was refreshing to see a match in its entirety. Don't you think that WWE, TNA and ROH could learn from this and have at least the main event go commercial free? It was done in the past during the Monday night wars when they (WWE) announced that the main event would be commercial free.

Absolutely WWE and TNA could learn from it. I think it was one of the many elements that allowed Lucha Underground to feel completely different from the larger companies. I think that expecting there to never be commercials breaks on Raw is probably an unrealistic hope but WWE can certainly build to a big match and say it will be commercial free as a way to keep your attention.

Who is in charge of determining where the events (Smackdown, RAW, PPV, Live Events) take place? How far in advance has the WWE laid out it's schedule for future events (not including the PPV's)?

WWE has a live events team that works on all that and they do it at least a year or so in advance. By the time 2016 rolls around, they will be working on the 2017 calendar.

Eventually Sasha Banks will have to drop the NXT Women's title, whom do you think should take the title off her?

I'd really like it to be Bayley so she can complete the journey her character has been on since Day One.

Why does the WWE have PPV's in some of the same areas every year? St. Louis, LA, Texas for example. Is there a reason behind it?

My guess is that these are the most modern facilities for production and that they know they are guaranteed big money sellouts. You go to where the money is.

Do you think Tough Enough will come back in 2016? Ratings are declining and the reality show aspect has put off some viewers since some capable participants get eliminated for the most bogus reasons while other participants stay longer than they should. I am aware that Patrick, Mada, and Chelsea could very well get NXT contracts in the near future.

I really don't expect the series to return, at least in this format. They could easily take the name and make it the title of the NXT documentary series they have been discussing doing of late. I don't see USA rushing to get the series back, unless they can lock in a Steve Austin to return.

Why do the Tough Enough judges save a contestant prior to the revelation of the results?

It's just the way WWE has decided to go with the show creatively.
