WWE LAWSUIT UPDATES

By Mike Johnson on 2015-07-29 14:29:06

Here is the latest on the WWE concussion lawsuits.

On 7/23, Judge Vanessa L Bryant (who took over the case the day before) issued an order consolidating the lawsuits WWE filed against Blackjack Mulligan, Ivan Koloff, The Dynamite Kid and Koko B. Ware as well as the lawsuit brought against WWE by Vito Lograsso and former WWE developmental talent Evan Singleton (transferred from Pennsylvania) and the lawsuit brought against WWE by former WWE talents Ryan Sakoda, Matt Wiese (Luther Reigns) and former developmental talent Ryan McCullough.

The Judge ordered Konstantine W. Kyros, the attorney who has been representing many of the former WWE talents, asking him to show cause and explain why so many lawsuits have been file in courts outside of the jurisdiction of WWE's contracts.  Kyros has until 8/6 to respond to the court.

On 7/27, a motion was filed on behalf of Mulligan, Koloff, etc. asking for an extension in time to respond to the lawsuit.  The court shot that down on 7/28, ordering the response be filed by 8/27.   WWE has served Mulligan, Koloff and Ware but have not, as of this writing, served Dynamite Kid, obviously since he lives in Great Britain.

WWE has previously succeeded in getting a lawsuit filed by Billy Jack Haynes moved to CT and is currently working on getting the lawsuits filed by the Estate of Nelson Frazier Jr. (Big Daddy V) and Matt Osbourne (Matt Borne) moved to CT as well.
