When Kevin Owens FIRST came out for the open challenge, was this their plan as a way to introduce him to the main roster? Or was it just intended to be a nice segment, and it went over way better than they anticipated, so they kept it up?

It was the plan. I mean, he beat John Cena in his first WWE match. They knew they would have to follow that up! As I type this Sunday afternoon, I am so hoping that they pull the trigger and have Owens beat Cena tonight.

UPDATE on Monday: They didn't put Owens over and I think they made a big mistake.

With funding seemingly being the #1 issue for Lucha Underground getting a 2nd season, do you think something like a GoFundMe could be a viable option or would that make them look too bush league? With the buzz that show has, there would be a good amount of fans who would donate to ensure another season.

I don’t see that happening. They are dealing with a TV network in El Rey. Crowd funded projects are usually done by people without a corporate partner. To me, a second season will come down to the sides finding a deal that they can both live with.

Does WWE have a thing against fans bringing streamers to events? It just seems like it's used in such a great way for the fans to show appreciation to the talent like they're allowed to in ROH. Imagine the way the ring would have looked at WrestleMania 24 when Flair retired! I think Triple H might be more open to the idea on NXT and Vince isn't open minded enough to embrace such an idea. Your thoughts?

They like to control their product and its presentation, and I don’t blame them. Streamers look cool and all, but think about 70,000 people at WrestleMania throwing them. It’s an accident waiting to happen.

Hey guys love the site as always. You guys always seem to step up the game and be the epitome of true honest reporting. My question, with MVP now gone from TNA is there any chance WWE may have renewed interest in him or is that a burnt bridge?

I would say that there isn’t much interest for him for a main roster spot. He was a free agent back in February of 2014 when TNA signed him. I wouldn’t be surprised if they could consider bringing him as an NXT talent, to help work with younger talent, but I don’t see a main roster spot in his future.

I've noticed that on the signature for Ring of Honor that they still show CM Punk. Do they have his permission to do so, or is more or less the company touting that they discovered Punk?

Like any smart company, they own the footage of a wrestler when he worked for them. Given how well known Punk is, it’s not a bad idea to let people know he has been associated with ROH.
