COMBAT ZONE WRESTLING SIGNS LIVE PPV DEAL

Philadelphia-based Combat Zone Wrestling, which has been running since the late 1990s, officially signed a deal this afternoon that will see the company begin to produce live PPVs that will be distributed via traditional PPV outlets.

Steve Karel, who's Stonecutter Wrestling produces a number of taped PPV entities as well as the Urban Wrestling Federation, was at tonight's CZW event to sign the deal with CZW owner DJ Hyde. Karel was involved in closing a lot of the PPV and licensing deals the original ECW had in the 1990s in his role as ECW General Manager behind the scenes. Stonecutter will be producing and distributing the events.

The deal has been in the works for some time. We'll have more on this in the coming days.
