RAW-DIRECTV ISSUE, SMACKDOWN PREVIEW, WHAT TO EXPECT ON NEW SEASON OF TOTAL DIVAS AND MORE WWE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2015-07-01 09:10:00

A number of readers asked whether the fact that DirecTV DVRs didn't pick up the live Monday broadcast of Raw and instead picked up the two hour replay yesterday could have had a bearing on the Raw audience being down this week. It could have been a factor, but how much of one, I doubt even WWE would know offhand.

There is currently no Tuesday Raw replay set for the USA Network. It appears the cable network did the replay last night to try and help raise Tough Enough's rating.

Scheduled for this Thursday's Smackdown:

*WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns.
*Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt.
*WWE Tag Team champions The Prime Time Players vs. The Ascension.
*WWE Intercontinental champion Ryback vs. Mark Henry.
*R-Truth vs. Adam Rose.
*Brie Bellas vs. Naomi.
*Also appearing are Rusev, Lana, Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae.

E! aired a 15 preview of the new season of Total Divas last night.  Here were the storyline plots that were previewed: All the women waiting to see if the Bellas really leave the company (the cliffhanger last season was the Bellas turning down a new 3 year contract) as they wanted their spots.  Nikki was feeling she was at the top of her game and had second thoughts on leaving.  Eva Marie told all the Divas she was heading to NXT to train but was really training in California under Brian Kendrick, which led to the other girls being upset she lied and that she was passing up training at the state of the art WWE Performance Center. Natalya wanted to pitch a "dominatix Cat woman" character and was going to reseach it.  Cameron was nowhere to be found, while Naomi was back as part of the cast.

Speaking of Cameron, a fan Tweeted her that she was waiting for WWE to push her.  Cameron responded, "So am I." She hasn't been brought in for TV tapings for some time but is scheduled to work this weekend's house shows in the United States.

Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart were representing WWE at the International Licensing Convention in Las Vegas last week. WWE usually has a big booth showcasing the power of their brand every year there.

Former WWE personality Jonathan Coachman was pushing the idea of taking ESPN's Sportscenter on the road to Brooklyn, NY for Summerslam and asked fans to retweet his comments to show ESPN brass the power of the WWE fan base.

The next WWE NXT Taping in Winter Park, Florida is 7/16 at Full Sail Live.
