WHAT ARE WRESTLERS FIGHTING FOR AT SLAMMIVERSARY, MASK VS. MASK MATCHES, MOLLY HOLLY IN THE WWE HALL OF FAME AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-06-26 10:00:00
Since the TNA World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line next Wednesday between Kurt Angle (c) vs. Ethan Carter III, that means that there will be no TNA World Heavyweight Championship match this Sunday @ Slammiversary. Therefore, since, in the past, the winner of the King of the Mountain match was the one who was able to hang the belt up, how will the winner be determined this time?

As of this writing, TNA has yet to announce what will be on the line. Perhaps it will be a title shot or perhaps it will be for bragging rights. I guess we will soon see, but it's pretty lame we don't know.

Given Chyna's latest video begging to get into the Hall of Fame what do you think is more likely: Pete Rose in the Baseball Hall or Chyna in the WWE Hall?

Pete Rose all the way. Chyna should be petitioning Cooperstown at this point, because there's no way WWE can trust her with an open mic, much less as a representative of their company.

Do you think its about time that WWE induct Molly Holly/Nora Greenwald into the WWE Hall of Fame?

I am sure it will happen at some point and I think we are more than due for her to go in. She did a lot to provide great memories and matches for fans and is a class individual. She deserves it and I think it'd be a great moment.

Whatever happened to former WWE/FCW star Audrey Marie?

She wrestled a few times on the independent scene under her real name, Ashley Miller, but it appears she's moved on from the business.

When WCW was alive and kicking there were a series of matches featuring masked wrestlers from the country of Mexico. The stipulation was that if you lost you would be required to unmask. I can recall one such wrestler losing his match and then subsequently unmasking on WCW. I don't know his name but he wore a type of mask resembling a bull with jet black hair and horns. Why would anyone agree to such a stipulation? I always understood that wrestlers from Mexico considered wearing a mask an honor. A sense of pride and respect. Why do such an act? Have you ever heard of such a thing?

Imagine if you will, Mike Johnson with his hand over his face.

On the off chance you are being serious, the wrestler you are thinking of was Psicosis. He lost because he was booked to lose his mask and when a company is paying you, you do what you are told to do.

Mask vs. Mask matches have been around Lucha Libre since the dawn of time. The entire idea is that when a rivalry has gotten to the point of a final showdown, the winner is stripping the loser of not just their identity but their dignity.
