EARLY RAW PREVIEW, WHO'S BACKSTAGE, HEYMAN-AUSTIN, ROCK, SETH THE MOST HATED MAN IN AMERICA AND MORE WWE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2015-06-01 11:09:28
WWE will return with a live Raw broadcast from San Antonio, Texas tonight.  The main themes of the show, beyond building to the 6/17 Money in the Bank PPV will be the aftermath of Kevin Owens defeating John Cena cleanly and decisely last night as well as Dean Ambrose taking the WWE World Heavyweight championship belt after it appeared he won the title, only to learn champion Seth Rollins had been disqualified.  The Elimination Chamber show last night was very good and WWE has some good momentum to play off of.

As noted elsewhere on the site, WWE is again doing a free month for new subscribers in June, so if you wanted to see last night's Chamber PPV, you still can see it for free.  It looks like the free month to new subscribers will remain as the company's strategy to get new eyeballs on the product in attempts to convert them to paid subscribers.

The WWE Network will feature the return of the Stone Cold Podcast tonight after Raw with Paul Heyman as the guest.  That will be live in San Antonio after Raw as Heyman flew in to Texas last night. It sure seems like a million years ago that they were part of the Dangerous Alliance in WCW, doesn't it?

Big Show is also in Texas, so we'll see if he returns this week to TV.

Daniel Bryan is scheduled for Raw tonight but won't be at Smackdown tomorrow in Houston, Texas.  If anyone is attending the Houston taping, we are seeking spoiler reports.

There is no current timetable for Rusev's return.

WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins was interviewed by the BBC, where he made the claim he was the most hated man in America.  It's a really good read and you can check it out by clicking here.  A big thank you to Jonathan Walsh for passing it along.

The Rock's "San Andreas" was his highest grossing debut theatrically for a film where he carried it as a name, as opposed to the "Fast & Furious" series where he's part of the ensemble.

Darren Young is now doing a podcast with SiriusXM's Sam Roberts (who has popped up on the WWE Network as a talking head). The first episode, which you can see below, features discussion on The Nexus, Young coming out, CM Punk, Randy Orton, his original gimmick, The Primetime Players and more:

Hideo Itami is in Japan this week promoting the July dates there.   Itami will appear on those shows but obivously won't be wrestling.

Former WWE star Trevor Murdoch has been working for Harley Race's World League Wrestling in Missouri of late.
