SHOULD KURT ANGLE ANSWER JOHN CENA’S OPEN CHALLENGE, DOES DIXIE CARTER HAVE A SAVIOR OBSESSION, LESNAR VS. OWENS AND MORE

I’m not hoping for TNA to go out of business. But there's was something I wanted to see. With John Cena fighting mostly NXT wrestlers with his open challenge. I wanted to see him do something  different and wrestle someone from his past because most nights I just guess which NXT star will be on Raw to be his opponent. I guess the perfect opponent would be Kurt Angle. Since it was Kurt Angle that gave Cena his first match on Smackdown in his open challenge. I think even if Angle doesn't win in would be a great way to put him back in the WWE.

It would get a pop. The problem is, before he re-signed with TNA Angle talked with WWE. They couldn’t make a deal then. So unless Angle would agree to do things on WWE’s terms, it doesn’t look like a return is imminent at this time.

Obviously there was great resentment between Dynamite Kid and British Bulldog at the end before Bulldog passed, but do you think they will ever induct them into the HOF in any form Tag Team or individually?

As a tag team, they definitely belong. The problem is, Davey Boy Smith has passed and Kid’s health is not good at all (and that doesn’t take into account his disposition). Last I heard he is almost completely disabled so him appearing at the event is highly unlikely. I could see them getting in posthumously. Also, you could make the case for them both as singles, especially given some of the other people already in the Hall.

I've been a wrestling fan since the early 80s... That said I'm getting more excited with WWE/NXT lately and think we are starting to experience an attitude era. The reason I say that is because history is repeating itself. Obviously The Authority is the Corporation, but what about Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns? I see Triple H, Stone Cold and The Rock? I know it's way too early to say that, but I feel it. I believe Ambrose can have a tremendous run and be an Austin like champion with multiple matches against Rollins and Reigns. And with Kevin Owens, Sammie Zayne, Finn Balor, Hideo Itami and Samoa Joe! The Quote isn't the future is now, it's the Era is now! What do you think? Yes Yes Yes or am I just living in the 90s?

I don’t know about another Attitude Era, because that was a special moment in time for the business, but the company could definitely have a rebirth with the talent coming up in NXT if Vince McMahon will allow the creative end of the company to embrace it and make changes into how he has presented the product of late. It all falls on the boss.

Do you think Dixie Carter has some sort of weird "savior complex"?  First of all, Vince Russo.  Then Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff.  Now Billy Corgan.  They always seem to look for someone to come riding in and save them. And Russo/Hogan/Bischoff I can understand -- these guys have a track record in the business.  But Corgan has never run a successful major pro wresting company, and as for mainstream value?  Billy Corgan's music is great, but his popular appeal is that he is part of a rock band that had a blip of mainstream popularity 20 years ago (yes, it makes me feel old, too, but "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" came out in 1995).  Why would you turn the company over to him? Why not just keep the course and try to build a fan base?  Why continually look for saviors?

Interesting question. My own take is that she does not a savior complex. It’s actually a few things that make her “special” in her management style. First, she wants to be on Vince McMahon’s level, immediately. Like yesterday. She doesn’t realize that it doesn’t work that way, and that kind of success takes a lot of time. Goodwill comes over years, not minutes. Also, even though she has been in it a decade, she still doesn’t really understand the business. So, she chases after people that have been successful in the past, not realize that they aren’t the draws/creative forces that they used to be. She expects that just brining those people in will mean huge success immediately, kind of like a GM in sports who brings in players that don’t mesh because individually they can produce numbers. She often misses the chemistry aspect of the moves. She also doesn’t have the ability to command the room like Vince McMahon does. Whether you agree with his way of doing things or not, McMahon has a plan for how he wants things done. You can maybe influence him, but you are making what you have in mind fit his plan. Carter doesn’t run her company that way and anarchy often ensues.

How do you feel about either having Samoa Joe or Kevin Owens square off against Brock Lesnar and get the Taker Rub. I think this would be a great opportunity to elevate two guys who are most deserving and can possible give a world star match with Lesnar.

First off, if they were going to do that, they would have to commit to pushing the guy they put in their with Brock. If they don’t, it would be a waste. As I type this on Sunday I don’t know what happened at the Chamber yet. If Owens came out strong against Cena, and they were going to commit to really pushing him, I think it would fun to watch. At this point, with Joe recently coming from TNA, I don’t see WWE doing the “strap the rocket” push, so of the two, Owens makes more sense (again, that is dependent on what they did with him over the past few days).
