DO TALENTS WANT TO STAY IN NXT WHERE THEY CAN WORK GREAT MATCHES, THE STATUS OF TNA'S TV DEAL, CAN THE NXT ROSTER BRING BACK CM PUNK AND MORE

So last night on SD, Ambrose fought Wyatt (again). R-Truth fought Stardust (again), etc etc. Why do you think that with all the talent that WWE has at their disposal, they keep having the same matches over and over again?

I think it shows that the creative team needs to do a better role in developing people and treating them more as assets. That isn’t to say that everyone can be in the main event, because they can’t, but that doesn’t mean that the company can’t do a better job of fleshing out the mid card and booking guys in such a way that they are protected, and thus kept interesting.

Sasha Banks had the match of her life at NXT Unstoppable.  I know that on the main roster there would be much more exposure and a higher pay grade, but would the competitor in a woman like Sasha have any regret that, if called up to the main roster tomorrow, she wouldn't be able to have that kind of match again?  Even if she becomes Diva's champion, she would be relegated to mostly 2-minute matches, commentary, or some duty other than showcasing her wrestling talent.

Mike and I talked about the subject in-depth on our show yesterday. Certainly, they are differing opinions within WWE as to how the women should be used. Vince McMahon will have to be convinced to change the way he presents the women if we are ever going to see those kinds of matches on the main roster. I can’t speak for her, but it’s a topic of conversation in the company that talents get to do things in NXT that they often don’t on the main roster, so I am sure she is aware as well. In my opinion, WWE is missing out on a huge revenue source by presenting the women they way that they do. Just look at UFC. Their biggest draw is Ronda Rousey. The US Women’s Soccer teams sells a ton of merchandise. If WWE presented the women as being real and strong, they could capitalize on that as well. With that said, the main roster means more money, so to most people that is where they want to be.

Do you think the chances of CM Punk eventually wanting to return in a few years have increased with all this great talent in NXT? If they get brought up to the main roster and pushed strongly he must be tempted with all the great matches he could have, as well as rekindling an old rivalry with Samoa joe?

The opponents he had were not the reason he left. The politics and not being treated as he felt he should be were. That won’t change with the talent in NXT so I think it will have very little, if any, bearing on him doing a 180 and returning to WWE.

So with TNA losing the TV deal, where else could they go or who should WWE pick up?

Let’s see if they actually lose the TV deal first. Mike and I talked about the subject in great detail on yesterday’s show in the Elite section if you are interested. If they do, they are obviously in trouble if they can’t find another outlet in the US. It would would be the blow that would change them from a national commodity to a company that does shows to fullfill obligations overseas. I don’t want to get into who they should pick up other than to state the obvious: EC3.

Samoa Joe's debut on NXT was perfect.  Had he made his debut on WWE TV or PPV instead, do you think it would have come off as well as it did?

It depends on who he debuted against! If he came out and confronted Seth Rollins, it would have been bigger. If he came out and confronted Macho Mandow, not so much.
