The show kicks off with a video package highlighting the great moments from past King Of The Ring tournaments.
The opening video montage airs, with Michael Cole, JBL and Booker T being your announce team.
Eden Stiles introduces WWE World Champion Seth Rollins, who comes to the ring flanked by J&J Security and Kane. Highlights from the WWE World Title Match between Rollins and Randy Orton at WWE Extreme Rules were shown as Rollins comes to the ring. Rollins has the microphone and he talks about how he outsmarted Orton last night at the pay-per-view. Rollins says that he single handedly built and destroyed The Shield, while reminding us that he also cashed in Money In The Bank at WWE Wrestlemania 31 to win the WWE World Title.
Rollins says that he proved he is a valiant and fighting champion last night, while he had Orton right where he wanted him last night. Rollins states that he beat Orton all by himself last night, while Kane looks at Rollins with a confused look on his face. Rollins talks about how he defeated Orton with an SKO, which is his version on Orton’s RKO finishing maneuver. Rollins then decides to thank Kane for doing what was “best for business”, before calling him the crypt keeper. Rollins starts mocking Kane about his age before Kane interrupts him, Kane says that Rollins illegally used the RKO last night.
Kane calls Rollins a spoiled little brat, Kane then says that he would rather be the WWE version of the crypt keeper instead of the WWE’s Justin Bieber. Kane says that Rollins is only champion because he has six people helping him out every night, Orton’s music plays and he comes to the stage with a microphone in hand. Orton says that since a member of The Authority said that Rollins cheated, that he should get a rematch. Rollins says that Orton should only get one opportunity at the gold, Kane is about to speak when Roman Reigns makes his way to the ringside area.
Reigns takes a moment to pose on the announce table before Rollins starts insulting him, Reigns grabs a microphone and he tells Rollins to shut up. Reign’s talks about how he took out the Big Show last night at WWE Extreme Rules, Reigns then says Orton had his shot and he now wants a shot at Rollins and the title. The crowd erupts in a chant of “Justin Bieber” towards a disgusted Rollins, Rollins says that he has already defeated both men and neither will get a title shot. Kane interrupts Rollins and he says that both men made good arguments for a title shot, Kane then makes a tag match for tonight pitting himself and Rollins against Orton and Reigns. Kane then states that the WWE Universe will decide who gets a title shot at WWE Payback.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Wade Barrett in a King Of The Ring Opening Round Match is next…
Dolph Ziggler’s pre-recorded interview airs and he talks about how humiliating it was to kiss the backside of Sheamus at WWE Extreme Rules. Bad News Barrett’s pre-recorded interview airs next and he says that he is going to win the King Of The Ring Tournament.
Match #1
WWE King Of The Ring Tournament Opening Round Match
Dolph Ziggler vs. Bad News Barrett
The match kicks off with Barrett jumping Ziggler and beating him up in the corner, Barrett gets the first pin attempt after catching Ziggler with a back elbow. Barrett gets a two count and then he attacks Ziggler with an elbow drop, Ziggler makes a comeback after kicking Barrett in the head and then nailing him with a dropkick that propels Barrett out of the ring.
-Commercial Break-
We return to action with Barrett holding Ziggler in a chin lock, Ziggler breaks free and he sends a charging Barrett shoulder first into the ring post. The competitors are both down and then Ziggler gets up first, which allows him to hit Barrett with a flying clothes line and corner avalanche. Barrett almost catches Ziggler with a Waste Land, but Ziggler counters by cracking him with a DDT for a near fall. Ziggler looks for a super kick and Barrett trips him up, Barrett propels Ziggler into the ring post before catching him with Waste Land for a near fall.
Barrett prepares to land a Bull Hammer, Ziggler avoids the move before clobbering Barrett with a super kick for a near fall. Sheamus comes out with a microphone and he shows a picture of Ziggler kissing his behind on the Titan Tron, Barrett catches a distracted Ziggler with a Bull Hammer to score a three count.
Winner: Bad News Barrett
JBL announces that he was told Triple H is not here tonight and then The New Day is shown clapping backstage with a random person.
-Commercial Break-
The New Day come to the ring and Xavier Woods grabs a microphone to thank all of the “Clappers” out there who helped them win the gold. Xavier tries to get the crowd to clap along to “New Day Rocks”, but they get “New Day Sucks” instead. Tyson Kidd comes to the ring for his match against Big E.
Match #2
Big E w/Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods vs. Tyson Kidd w/Natalya & Cesaro
The match starts with Kidd quickly nailing E with a few strikes, E uses his power to toss Kidd to the ring apron. Kidd quickly hits E with an inzaguri and then a springboard drop kick, Kidd stomps E in the corner as the crowd chants “New Day Sucks.” E goes out of the ring for some rest and Kidd kicks him in the head, Kidd brings E back into the ring. Kidd charges and E catches him with a high cross body and he gets the three count as Woods holds onto the foot of Kidd.
Winner: Big E w/Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods
Highlights from the John Cena/Rusev Russian Chain Match from WWE Extreme Rules were shown next, John Cena versus Rusey in an I Quit Match for the WWE United States Title is announced for WWE Payback. John Cena’s WWE United States Title Open Challenge is announced for later tonight.
Ryback is heading to the ring as he will be in action next.
-Commercial Break-
Bo Dallas has the microphone as he comes to the ring and he says that Ryback’s actions last night at WWE Extreme Rules was incomprehensible. Dallas says that he is giving Ryback one chance to walk away and last night, all he had to do was “Bolieve.”
Match #3
Ryback vs. Bo Dallas
The match starts with Ryback attacking Dallas with a clothes line, Dallas wraps himself in the ropes before kicking Ryback. Dallas then drops Ryback with a running clothes line, Dallas goes outside the ring to put the ring curtain over the head of Ryback. Dallas pounds away on a blinded Ryback before getting a near fall, Dallas then locks Ryback in a chin lock. Ryback eventually shakes Dallas off of him before eating a big boot, Dallas dives off the middle rope and Ryback nails him with a spine buster. Ryback follows that up with a Meat Hook clothes line and Shell Shock for a three count.
Winner: Ryback
After the match, the lights go out and Bray Wyatt is in the ring when the lights come back on, Wyatt was behind Ryback the whole time. Ryback turns around and Wyatt nails him with Sister Abigail, Wyatt does the crab walk and the cell phone lights shine in the background.
John Cena’s open challenge is up next.
-Commercial Break-
John Cena comes to the ring for the WWE United States Title Open Challenge, but he has a few words to say first. Cena talks about how he defeated Rusev last night at WWE Extreme Rules and that the “Champ Is Here.” Cena talks about how brutal the Russian Chain Match was and how he will again face Rusey, this time in an I Quit Match at WWE Payback. Cena says that he respects Rusev because he refuses to quit, but that will be changing at WWE Payback. Cena says that he will not lose the belt and he will never surrender, Cena then says that WWE Payback will be the final chapter between himself and Rusev.
Cena says that if Rusev makes him say “I Quit”, then he does not deserve to get a rematch because he will be letting everyone down. Cena then brings up the Vince Lombardi Statue that is outside the title before quoting the legendary Green Bay Packer coach. Cena then says that he is giving somebody an opportunity tonight and the open challenge starts right now. The challenge is answered by Heath Slater, who comes out with a microphone of his own and he tells everybody to “wait a minute.” Slater says he is taking advantage of a crushed Cena tonight to become the WWE United States Champion. Slater starts mocking Packer’s QB Aaron Rodgers and his discount double check deal, Rusev attacks Slater from behind and he takes him out on the stage as Cena watches.
Rusev has a staredown with Cena as Lana makes her way to the stage amongst cheers from the crowd, Rusev angrily sends Lana to the back after getting a microphone. Rusev starts speaking in a language I cannot understand as the crowd chants “We Want Lana, We Want Lana.” Rusev speaks English and he calls everybody in the crowd quitters, Rusev says that he will make Cena quit at WWE Payback. Rusev says that he will make Cena say “I Quit”, the Russian flag drops behind Cena as Rusev taunts him from the stage.
Kane is seen pacing around backstage when Seth Rollins arrives, Rollins asks Kane about his decision for his next title challenger. Rollins questions the sanity of Kane, who gets angry and that prompts J&J Security to get in between them. Rollins threatens to tell Triple H and Stephanie McMahon about his actions, Kane then says that the fans choices tonight for his challenger at WWE Payback will be Randy Orton, Roman Reigns or both in a triple threat match.
-Commercial Break-
Pre-recorded comments from R-Truth airs, who says that if he wins the tournament, his first order of business will be to rid spiders from the WWE. Pre-recorded comments from Stardust air next, who says that it is written in the stars that he will win the tournament.

WWE King Of The Ring Tournament Opening Round Match
R-Truth vs. Stardust
The match begins with Truth catching Stardust with a series of roll ups for some near falls, Stardust hides in the corner before cracking Truth with a punch and bulldog for a near fall. Stardust gets up and he takes the opportunity to stomp on Truth, Stardust slows the pace on the match down by putting Truth in a chin lock. Truth breaks free to roll up Stardust for a near fall, Stardust catches Truth with a kick to the face after kicking out of the pin attempt. Stardust drops to his back before kicking Truth in the head for another two count, Stardust again locks Truth in a chin lock.
Stardust slams Truth before dancing around the ring and yelling at Booker T, Truth then hits a charging Stardust with a few clothes lines. Truth misses the axe kick before catching Stardust with a leg lariat, Stardust nails Truth with a Russian leg sweep for a near fall. Stardust looks for a springboard move and Truth catches him with a Lie Detector for a three count.
Winner: R-Truth

Fandango vs. Adam Rose w/The Rosebuds
The match kicks off with Rose locking Fandango in the headlock before dropping him with a shoulder block. Fandango then hits a running Rose with a drop kick, Rose escapes to the arena floor before dropping Fandango neck first on the top rope. Rose takes the opportunity to choke Fandango along the middle rope, Fandango pops back up and he attacks Rose with chops before knocking him out of the ring. The Rosebuds help Rose to his feet and Fandango takes them all out with a suicide dive, Rosa Mendes turns out to be one of the Rosebuds and she distracts Fandango. Rose hits Fandango with the Party Foul to get the three count.
Winner: Adam Rose w/The Rosebuds
After the match, Rosa comes to the ring with a microphone and she says that she cannot believe Fandango chose the fans over her. Rosa says that she found somebody who treats her right in Rose before a make out session between the two erupts in the ring.
The announce team brings up the Daniel Bryan health situation, Renee Young is then shown backstage interviewing Brie Bella. Young brings up the health of Bryan, Brie says that Daniel is going through a heart wrenching time right now and he loves the WWE. Brie says that she knows just how bad her husband wants to be here right now and she thanks the WWE fans for caring about her husband. Naomi attacks Brie from behind and she tells her that nobody cares about her husband.

Match #6
Brie Bella w/Nikki Bella vs. Naomi
The match begins with Brie quickly jumping Naomi and the two exchange plenty of blows until the referee breaks them up. Naomi cracks Brie with a forearm to the face as the referee was holding Brie back, Naomi then hits Brie with a running bulldog into the turnbuckle. Naomi continues the attack by hitting Brie with a back breaker for a near fall, Naomi then applies the chin lock to a hurt Brie. Brie breaks the hold and Naomi brings her back down with a leg lariat, Naomi hits Brie with a leg drop to get another near fall.
Naomi quickly grabs Brie after the pin attempt to lock her in another chin lock, Brie escapes by tossing Naomi into the turnbuckles. The women both go down after hitting each other with simultaneous hair-mares, Brie gets up first to hit Naomi with a clothes line and drop kick. Brie then hits a downed Naomi with a running knee strike to the jaw, Brie catches Naomi with a missile drop kick for a near fall. Naomi catches Brie with a kick to the head before rolling her up for a three count.
Winner: Naomi
Tonight’s main event is discussed by the announce team as Dean Ambrose heads to the ring for his upcoming match.

Pre-recorded comments from Dean Ambrose air, Ambrose talks about what he would do if he won the King Of The Ring Tournament. Pre-recorded comments from Sheamus air, he says that he will become the King Of The Ring once again.

King Of The Ring Tournament Opening Round Match
Dean Ambrose vs. Sheamus
The match begins with the two competitors locking up and battling into the corner before separating, Sheamus controls the head of Dean before dragging him into the corner. Dean and Sheamus exchange head locks until Sheamus takes Dean down with a shoulder tackle, Dean looks for a takedown and Sheamus counters by ripping away at his face. Dean finally takes Sheamus down and he locks him in a crossbow stretch, Dean then lands a kick to the back of Sheamus. Sheamus recovers by catching Dean with a punch and a few European uppercuts, Dean tries fighting back by nailing Sheamus with chops.
Dean eventually knocks Sheamus out of the ring with a flying fore arm, Dean sets up for a suicide dive and Sheamus runs away as we head to commercial.
-Commercial Break-
The action resumes with Sheamus holding Dean in a chin lock, Dean breaks free and Sheamus catches him with a knee to the midsection. Sheamus follows that up by nailing Dean with a modified suplex, Sheamus drags Dean around the ring while punching him in the face. Dean eventually catches Sheamus with a rebound clothes line that puts both men down, the competitors get up and Dean attacks Sheamus with a plethora of punches. Sheamus slows Dean’s momentum by catching him with a tilt-a-whirl power slam, Sheamus sets up for the Brogue Kick and Dean avoids it to catch him with a roll up.
Sheamus gets up and he charges at Dean and he only makes contact with the ring post, Sheamus slides outside the ring and Dean hits him with a suicide dive. Dean brings Sheamus back into the ring, only to get cracked with a back breaker by Sheamus for a near fall. Sheamus looks for White Noise and Dean counters with a roll up for a near fall, Sheamus trips up Dean and he locks him in the Cloverleaf. Dean eventually makes his way to the ropes after a long struggle, Dean rolls to the ring apron and Sheamus sets him up for the ten beats of the baron.
Dean breaks free to get to the top rope to hit Sheamus with a top rope elbow drop for a near fall, Sheamus rolls to the arena floor and Dean follows him out there. Dean attacks Sheamus until Sheamus cracks him with a Brogue Kick on the arena floor, Dolph Ziggler hits the ringside area and he attacks Sheamus to cause a DQ.
Winner: Sheamus (by DQ)
After the match, Sheamus escapes through the crowd to escape a furious Dolph Ziggler.
-Commercial Break-
The Raw Rewind from last week airs and it features highlights from The Miz/Damien Mizdow match from last week on WWE Raw. Damien Sandow is in the ring when we return from commercial and he talks about his start in the WWE. Sandow talks about how he was told to his face that he was not entertaining enough and his quest to entertain the fans, while showing different photos of himself on the Titan Tron. Sandow says that being Damien Mizdow caused him to lose a lot of respect in the locker room, but he gained respect from the WWE fans.
The crowd starts chanting for Sandow and then Curtis Axel’s music plays as Axel makes his way to the stage, microphone in hand. Axel makes his way to the ring while saying that he hates people who try to be someone else, Axel starts doing his catch phrases and poses while Sandow mocks him. Axel holds the ropes down and he demands the Sandow exit the ring, Sandow just continues to mock Axel. Axel tries attacking Sandow, Sandow is wise to him and he takes him out instead while continuing to mock him.
The announcers say that The New Day will defend the tag titles against Cesaro & Tyson Kidd on WWE Smackdown.
Bray Wyatt appears and he says that Ryback may never realize who he truly is and he could see right through him. Wyatt says what everybody witnessed tonight is only the beginning, Wyatt disappears and the screen fades to black.
-Commercial Break-
The announcers talk about the return of WWE Tough Enough while some of the video audition highlights are shown.
Pre-recorded comments from Neville air, Neville talks about all of the past winners of the King Of The Ring Tournament. Pre-recorded comments from Luke Harper airs, he says he will sit upon his throne of barbed wire and steel when he wins the tournament.

King Of The Ring Tournament Opening Round Match
Neville vs. Luke Harper
The match begins with Neville using his speed to take Harper out of the ring with a head scissors, Neville then catches Harper with a hurricarana on the arena floor. Neville brings Harper into the ring, Harper catches a flying Neville with a back breaker for a two count. Harper attacks Neville with a European uppercut as we head to commercial.
-Commercial Break-
We return to action as Harper holding Neville in the chin lock, Neville escapes and he manages to kick Harper a few times until he hits the arena floor. Harper returns to the ring and he goes right back out after missing a running boot, Neville capitalizes by doing a moonsault onto Harper and they both crash on the arena floor. Neville throws Harper into the ring before catching him with a springboard drop kick and standing shooting star press.
Neville charges at Harper and he eats a super kick, Harper then hits Neville with a half nelson suplex for a near fall. Harper sets up for a power bomb and Neville escapes to catch him with a release German suplex, Neville stuns Harpoer with an inzaguri. Harper recovers by catching a running Neville with a sit out power bomb for a two count, Neville tries fighting back as the two exchange blows. Harper backs Neville into the corner to assault him with strikes, Neville then puts Neville on the top turnbuckle before following him up there.
Neville drops to the ring apron before cracking him with a rope assisted inzaguri, Neville plants Harper on the ground with a power bomb. Neville lands the Red Arrow to score a three count on Harper.
Winner: Neville
The semi-finals of the King Of The Ring, live on the WWE Network tomorrow night will see Bad News Barrett versus R-Truth and Neville versus Sheamus.
Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring for our main event as we head to a commercial break.
