UNDERTAKER IN WCW, NXT RELEASES, ROUSEY FIGHTING AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-04-25 10:00:00
When a talent is released from NXT do they have a 90 day no compete like talent on the main roster?

Traditionally, they have only been prevented from working other national TV deals. I would assume now that NXT is a full fledged brand, that rule will be enforced more then ever.

Is there any chance that Dana White would allow Ronda Rousey to be on an episode of Total Divas? It would be a great opportunity for his company to introduce itself to a new audience, and I have little doubt that both WWE and E Network would be fine with it, and I could see her being willing to do it.

Publicly, Dana White has said he will not allow Rousey to do a match, but we'll see what happen.

My question is in regards to your opinion on hardcore wrestling. When do you think hardcore became too much and "jumped the shark"? Certain matches from RVD vs Jerry Lynn using few weapons to add something extra to a great match or Cactus Jack vs HHH from 2000 being a brutal fight but telling an incredible story, bring credibility to the genre. However, many many others really diluted the style such as New Jack and Sandman matches. Thoughts on the best and worst of hardcore wrestling?

Hardcore wrestling jumped the shark when WWF and WCW began presenting such matches as comedy undercard matches and created situations where guys were taking real punishment and then it was joked about by announcers as if it was some silly antics. That and WWE booking the Hardcore title to have 10,000 title changes in comedy bits are what killed that style, although to be fair, you could only do it to a certain degree before it became burnt out because once the audience sees something, they expect more and once you've hit that cresendo, there is nothing left to show.

Hypothetical one. I often wonder whether Undertaker moving over toWCW during MNW would have been a success considering - I would assume - WCW would have been limited in how much of the character they could use. So what's your opinion? A move in 96 enough to alter the outcome? And how would it compare to Sting going the other way?

Undertaker would have made a lot of money for himself, but whether he would have been as successful in WCW...I have my doubts. Look at Bret Hart. Politics are a hell of a b**ch.

What is going on with TNA's payroll department? Given today's day and age, how is it not possible to offer TNA contracted wrestlers a direct deposit option as opposed to physical checks?

Direct deposit is for employees. We are talking about independent contractors.
