PUNK'S SIDE OF BEING FIRED, WHY IVAN KOLOFF SHOULD BE USED TO BUILD THE RUSSIAN CHAIN MATCH, BRINGING COLE BACK TOO SOON AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-04-16 10:00:00
So your opinion is that Punk was fired on his wedding day, and I know you're going to say not opinion...FACT. Well, unless WWE found the world's greatest courier service to go Connecticut to Chicago same day, he was actually fired a day or two earlier. And do we know who shipped the letter? Did they know there was a wedding? I ship dozens of things a day that I'm sent from our office and never given instructions, just told to ship it. Also, how do we know it arrived on the day Punk said, he's pretty free with his side of the story after all.

Also, how do we know it arrived on the day Punk said, he's pretty free with his side of the story after all. WWE knew when he was getting married because AJ Lee had taken time off from being on the road TO GET MARRIED. Punk also said the firing came via Fedex. Fedexes are delivered overnight. WWE doesn't send important documents anything but the quickest way. The letter came from the company's legal department and if you are accusing Punk of lying about when he received the letter...well, Vince McMahon himself apologized for when Punk received it when he was on Steve Austin's podcast - unless you are accusing Vince of being a liar as well.

What are your thoughts on the rise of Ethan Carter III? Also, what are your thoughts on WWE totally missing the boat on him?

Good worker, great talker, great personality and works very hard. I think he's been the biggest success story in TNA in terms of new talents in a long time. WWE may have missed the boat on him but he also had a lot of bad luck in terms of injuries and timing. Thankfully, he got a second chance in TNA and it's been working out for the best.

Is there seriously no one in WWE other than Michael Cole that can semi-competently host their shows? They didn't want to use NXT talent and apparently didn't know Byron Saxton is horrible, so they bring back Cole, in London, to no sell the "serious neck injury" Brock Lesnar gave him. WTH??? Way to ruin a rare great RAW moment.

Saxton is by no means horrible, but I agree, WWE likely brought Michael Cole back too soon from the Brock Lesnar angle.

I know they won't do this, but wouldn't it be cool if WWE brought in Ivan Koloff to do a pre-recorded interview about the brutality of a Russian Chain Match, spliced with video of his old chain matches, some powerful, dramatic music and of course mentioning he's a former WWE champ? They've got great video production capabilities. This would be a way to get over how dangerous this match can be. Thoughts?

I agree, somewhat. I think they should fly Rusev to North Carolina and film vignettes where Ivan presents him with his old Russian Chain and trains Rusev. It would be a nice payday for Koloff and some exposure plus it would tap into WWE history well.

Did ECW ever release the dark matches from Barely Legal?

No, they were never shown on TV or released on home video.

Where is Mustafa?

He was just at Wrestlecon and lives in Nevada.
