What is Vince’s deal about not referring to title belts as “belts”? If you are going to mention the “championship” and the “title”, then why not refer to the belt as a “belt”. We all know that the championship is what you win, the title is the designation that you achieve from winning the championship, and the belt is the trophy that represents that you won the championship and now hold the title. What is worse, listening to Josh Matthews in TNA and Matt Striker in LU, they seem to have trouble saying “title belt” as if they still work for WWE.

He has always abhorred the word. He thinks it cheapens a championship. He feels a belt is what you wear to keep your pants up. It’s all part of his thoughts on branding, like wrestlers are actually Superstars.

With WWE being a publicly traded company, would you say that Vince McMahon is letting down their shareholders by not putting on the best possible product and insisting that his vision is the best way, should they be upset about this?

Vince controls the majority of the stock, so the primary shareholder he has to please is himself. If people buy WWE stock, they do so knowing that fact up front. I agree he could do more to maximize WWE’s revenues and profits, but that is another issue.

A lot of people seem to want to see Roman Reigns with Paul Heyman in order to help him get over with fans. Since the WWE is considering bringing in Samoa Joe, how about putting Reigns and Joe together in an HBK/Diesel sort of way, I feel it could greatly benefit both of their careers at the same time while allowing them to grow and not have to rely on the godlike mic skills of Paul Heyman.

Joe has been out of contract before and WWE didn’t offer him a deal worth taking, that means no main roster. There is no way that they would bring in a guy who was in the mid card in TNA and put him with a guy they are trying to push as a top guy. Plus, WWE wants their top babyfaces to stand alone as singles.

As much as I enjoy watching old shows and pay-per-views on the WWE Network, to me shows like NXT and the Stone Cold Podcasts are what make it really special. Do you feel they should be adding in more first run programing like that to encourage fans to renew their subscriptions every month?

Since I have been saying exactly that on audio for a year now, yes I agree with you (and myself).

My question is about other companies running WrestleMania weekend in San Jose. While, I am a big ROH fan, I kinda of always found it unfair for the company, or any other wrestling companies to run the city WrestleMania is in for that weekend. While I get and completely understand the point, as it is WrestleMania, wrestling fans biggest weekend, let's not forget, WrestleMania is owned by the WWE. They made it what it is. Whether we like what WWE gives us or not, every year they fill stadiums up with 60k to 80k people and bring all these wrestling fans to the city only for other wrestling companies such as WrestleCon and ROH to take advantage of. I find it a bit hypocritical, even though the WWE product sucks in my opinion, when people channel the WWE in branding their promotions, such as "this is not sports entertainment, this is pro wrestling" and yet they try and take advantage of what WWE created in running during WM weekend in the city. What are your thoughts on this?

I don’t see it like you do at all. America is a capitalist economy, full of small businesses that succeed because they get scraps from bigger businesses. It is good business for these companies to run where WWE is on Mania weekend. That is where they can find a huge concentration of wrestling fans. Plus, WWE benefits as well from, say, an ROH being strong. Look at all of the talent that they have signed from there as proof.
